I would go as far as to say that a magnetic screwdriver is a REQUIREMENT for building a computer.

Anything less than fridge magnets pushed straight against HDD is fine. Magnetic screwdriver bits are actually so low grip that you can drop screws by wiggle it too much. No way they can harm even credit card strip.

I have I think seen a WD engineer say he uses a magnetic tip screwdriver when working on hard drives. So you will be save.

 

Just be careful not to gouge your eyes out with it, other than that, it's safe.
