Chair for desktop gaming - with or without armrests

maxvons

This is probably a stupid question, but do you guys prefer armrests on your chair or no armrests when playing games? I find that it's harder to aim in FPS games when I use a chair with armrests, but it's much more uncomfortable too.

if you are gaming your arm won't be on the armrests so it's kinda useless

I don't like armrests when playing games or being on computer in general. It's a bit more uncomfortable for me, as I mostly sit legs crossed (Almost all the time sitting like that, everywhere)

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Arm rests dont really matter but they are nice to have, but when buying any desk chair I would definitely advise buying a nice one, especially if you are planning on spending a significant ammount of time in the chair. You probably want to spend atleast £150 to get something that will be longlasting and comfortable.

Maybe, but my armrests are quite high up, so I have to remove them to make them not touch my elbows kinda.

It all comes down to personal preference. I prefer with armrests, but not because of gaming, but because of media consumption and other things you can do on your computer whilst reclining and relaxing. When I play I lean a bit front and lift my arms up on the table... But it's all personal, a friend of mine games whilst lying down with a pillow beneath his mouse arm... Says it's most comfortable to him.

I personally rest my arms on my arm rest sometimes while gaming and typing and sometimes if I'm just on my desk I sort of lay across my chair so I like my chairs with armrests

The way I sit in my chair is cross legged and scooted close to my desk so my arms sit perfectly on the arm rests when playing a game/using the pc. They do exactly what the name says, it's an arm rest and I love them.

Arm rest would be nice for browsing and not really gonna be used depending on your hand. I would use no armrest, because I sometime crossed my leg.

For me, arm rests block my feet when sitting cross legged. Not sure if I'm sitting in small chairs or do I sit cross legged so widely.

I personally prefer armrests as I normally use them when watching videos and mostly for resting my keyboard arm when playing games.

Armrests are cool, if they're high enough you can support your arms on them when typing/gaming. I think chairs with armrests also look better, but that's personal preference.

I sit in a folding card chair.... ( Like no joke.. ) Plus I spend the majority of my day sitting in it, yet I'm always broke, as I'm trying to save up money for new parts

My arm rests get in the way, I don't like them. I always rest on arms on my table so they're pretty useless to me.

I can't raise my chair at all because my arm rests end up hitting the table. :(

I just use a normal office chair with no arm rests. I use 2 keyboards (one with blues and one with reds) so i adjust the height on my chair depending on whether i'm gaming or typing because one of they keyboards is on my desk and the other is on this kinda pull out slidey thingy just a little under the other keyboard so i use the chair height to get to it.

I use an old 5 gallon paint bucket turned upside down

Use whats comfortable, I sometimes switch chairs out and even used one of those exerciser balls for a while, the more changes the better for you keeps you from getting too ingrained into one spot/chair. Some chairs work for a while then are a total pain in the rear, I switch then go back to the pain the rear chair after the one I switched to is a pain. Plan on buying a total tricked out chair soon, maybe this weekend (that's what I said last weekend). B)

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This should be a poll :D

I personally really like armrests, especially when I lean back when I use my controller in games.

I like to have them but to have them adjustable. Why? Use them when watching movies .etc and move them out of the way when gaming.
