Spending all of my time online? Me.

Interested in coding? Yea coding my car

Irregular sleeping patterns? Yea because sleep is good

Extra income online? That's alot of people especially bitcoin miners & people who donate to Minecraft server (brother banks it from Minecraft lol)

Resistant when asked online? Hell no

Full data allowance on internet at home? Parents don't even know the net

I have a friend who does a bit of ddosing (usually when someone in the class is ontop of a leaderboard in agar.io). It doesn't really hurt anyone, so why should him doing that carry a 6 month jail term....

Because it's illegal, perhaps?

This is true. DDoSing is illegal regardless, this post is about the ridiculous things the NCA says are signs of an Internet hacking. Also, 'usually doesen't hurt anyone' is only standing for the people who don't get DDoSed. Tell that same thing to the people he DDOSes.

I am one of the people he ddossed usually when I make a joke about his mum.... and its only for like 5 mins, so who cares...

yes but its not hurting anyone, so why is it illegal

Because he does not own the servers he is DDOSing therefore he is tampering with other peoples things

DDoS is illegal, it does "hurt" people - just because your friend's bootnet isn't strong doesn't mean it's any less illegal.

Speeding doesnt hurt anyone, robbing a bank doesnt hurt anyone - should those be legal too?

I am one of the people he ddossed usually when I make a joke about his mum.... and its only for like 5 mins, so who cares...

When you get into higher powered DDoS (rather than DoS), people start caring.

your definition "hurting" isn't really correct for this action

DDOS is illegal, and it's punishable by law

DDoS isn't benefiting anyone

when your friend ddosing someone/something, that person lose their time/money

if things happens in bigger scale imagine how much people could easily lose their job because online market crash from ddos.

think again if this type of action isn't "hurting" anyone.

why not narrow it the criteria down even further.

eats junk food?

has mood swings?

skips other apointments for being online?

knows more about tech than you?

thats only about every teenager ever. if we dont stop witch huntng and start really educating people this shit is gonna end badly one day.

i mean think about that dude who got arested for having a "bomb" in school whe in reality it was (cant remember anymore) some science project or something.

and the other day i saw this post of a girl with lord of the rings tatto saying a woman pointed her out for having an "ISIS"-Tattoo. i mean seriously we need to stop feeding the fear of the uneducated.

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

For reference, just twice what he proposed is enough to completely blockade pretty much any major corporation (except perhaps Google, but even they're not immune) on Planet Earth from using their domain.

Are there even any botnets large enough to do that?

And also, what does 6gbps refer to in this context?

Absolutely, if you can get a couple hundred old grandmas on gigabit connections to :) :) :) Click Here, You've Won, THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!!!!!! :) :) :) then you can basically DDoS anywhere you like and their domain will be saturated at least once over.

6Gbps is a pretty significant in that regard. Then you only need a couple dozen gullible people on that sort of connection to essentially DDoS the shit out of whoever you want.

But those connections weren't what I was referring to.

Oh, ok, i imagine 6gbps refers to the information and requests sent to the target website in order to clog its bandwith and make it inaccessible
