  1. Hi guys, Sorry if this is the wrong section (no pun intended.) A little backstory; I'm a volunteer rural firefighter and I keep my phone on me at work, as if I receive a callout I need to be able to contact my first officer immediately. However, something has recently fallen into the slot (I'm one of those guys who uses his pockets as rubbish bins) and I can't get it out. I've tried different pairs of headphones and speakers and there's definitely something not allowing the jack to slide in completely, thus causing the headphones I have plugged in to disconnect at rando
  2. Decent display, nothing super badass, maybe 1080p? Portable, I don't want it to be ridiculously thick, but a little thickness is alright. So long as the battery can last me a day at university or so, that's all good, a few USB ports, maybe an SD port, a CD drive if that's possible.
  3. Yeah I just don't trust my own research skills for these kinds of things haha, I prefer to have someone else confirm my hunches. Thanks man!
  4. Hey! Sorry for the vague title. In the next 8 months or so I'll be moving towns for university, and my current laptop is old and less-than-optimal. Normally I'm good at finding solid consumer-grade laptops for my friends, but I apparently can't take my own advice lol. Anyway, I was wanting suggestions for a laptop that can handle some gaming and university work. I'm studying paramedicine so I won't need anything intense on the university part, just google docs etc. Here's a link to my steam profile and games list, so you can get a rough idea of what kind of games I play (I've recen
  5. Hey, So as the title describes, my monitors will lose video signal which requires a full restart, and sometimes it'll freeze upon restart on the windows screen. Only happens every now and then with games in the background or something and generallly only ever few hours. I've slowed it down by taking my side panel off but my temps are stable at like 40 degrees. specs: i5-4590 Silverstone Titanium Plus Platinum PSU 650w MSI R9 390 Rest is in my profile
  6. R9 390s for 1440p - XFX or Sapphire 970 for 1080p. - EVGA
  7. Because I have overseas mates? and because I have extended family? and because I have mates who are halfway across the fucking country?
  8. Yeah I should have specified Under no load and with no OC's applied. I got to about 60c under load w/ no overclock, but it still ran JC3 fine.

Also, Get an R9 390 and set up custom fan curves, I did so and it rarely goes above 40 degrees, even in Australian Summers. Furthermore, go with the R9 390, better 1440p performance and it actually has 8gb of Vram. Plus it stops NV from turning into a monopoly.
  10. look up Zoe Quinn Kotaku. GG. http://blogjob.com/oneangrygamer/2015/04/kotaku-writer-paid-800-to-dev-he-was-sleeping-with-without-disclosure/
  11. This is what I've said for literally fucking years. Who gives a shit what genitals they have? They do the job, they get paid. Simples, noh?
