I want to setup a new music system for my Dad for his pool area. He had a 1980s receiver tower that had a tape player unit, radio unit, a CD unit, and the main receiver. almost everything stopped working years ago but the radio. Here is the setup I wanted to do for him.

Comes out to $199.00 US ($214.01 US with the chromecast)

 

Any recommendations for other parts are welcome, I'm still new with nicer audio setups.

These sennheiser headphones for my music loving girlfriend of two years who completely refused me building her a pc after I made my own (I used many of your guides and suggestions, Linus! Thanks!) she says she doesn't like being such a nerd. Pfft.

The Logitech Harmony Ultimate One for mum and dad. That way I can set it up (and hopefully forget about it) and they can be watching TV in one press (again that's the plan), rather than having me explain step by step when they accidentally change the input. Also having just one remote hopefully it won't get lost as much!

I see all of these people asking for various PC components, and I'm like "Isn't this supposed to be for NON-techie friends/family?"

I would buy my Dad a VIVA OFFICE Ergonomic Office Chair because he is currently using a wooden dining chair (which is falling apart) while he is at the computer. He uses the computer for a lot of his work but he refuses to buy himself a new chair.

Something my wife really wants that I haven't had enough money to get her is a GoPro. She has done an amazing job living a healthier lifestyle in the last 6 months and she wants a GoPro to record the challenges we'll be doing next summer like Tough Mudder in Whistler, BC.

I would give my Big brother a Toshiba Satellite 2-in-1 Tablet ultra book

 

I would give it to him, so that he is able to do his college work on the go, as well as it allows him to game and able to do LAN, even though it is not the best specs for games like Battlefield 4, it would do for his minor games like Garry's mod.

I would buy my parents a playstation 4 so that they can turn their tv into a smart tv and they would benefit from the easy user interface.

Hello.

 

I would get a chromecast.

Can't post the amazon link since it isn't there.

I would give it to my mother. Since after a looong time teaching her how to use a smartphone finally payed off and she doesn't know how to use a computer, a chromecast would be a perfect gift for her to stream youtube videos and others to her TV and enjoy her favorite content on it instead of a small screen.

Well Im not really the gift type of guy for like people, so thats why im trying this year. Anyway the person who i want to give a gift to is my homeroom teacher, Ms.House. Shes cool and shouldnt even be working because she had a baby recenntly and the baby had some problems. So she been loosing track of time and missing days. So the gift that I think will beitfit her the most would be a samsung gear s2. Because of her losing track of things and that she does tend to lose things. And kept in mind she doesnt even know how to work a vga cord after plenty of times telling her where to put it, or how to connect to bluetooth thing, such as when someone brang in a bluetooth speaker. And most of the time she messes up with chrome books, macs, projecters, and everything esle in the school. And I believe that the watch would help her. And I havent forgot about my other teachers, ima get them a gift too hopefully, but the thing is that they all have an Iphone. I would give my brother a Zotac Gtx 970 because he is buying a new system and I am gonna help him.

I know it isn´t exactly 300$ so if thats not ok I would give him a new monitor(his current is quite crappy).

I'm planning on gifting a google cardboard VR headset to my parents who live in another country 9 hour flight away, so that I can show them my life events in 360 photos with sound. They are way under $300 too so I will probably giving them more than one headset.

I would get a audioengine d1 for my brother because he is a professional musician but he doesn't have enough money to buy it. It's also is Non-techie resistant!

I need a new pc for my dad, I have a gtx 960 but he has an atom 1 core in his windows 7 pc. 

I want to get him an a10 pc because it's slowing down his business a lot. (https://www.facebook.com/TheVintporium/) and I can't help him get another.

My mom watches a lot of tv shows but her tv has very very terrible sound quality. Half of the time she goes like what'd he just say? And since its cable and not online streaming, she cannot rewind. So I would love to gift her a good sound bar and subwoofer. I'm buying my dad a quality car stereo because we just got a surplus car from the money that they earned from our small business. It would be perfect because the car stereo that's in the old Toyoto Bb is very bad - I mean it doesn't even have Bluetooth or a front 3.5mm jack to connect your phone directly via a cable.

 

This Pioneer double-deck stereo would fit really nice in the car. I just wish we could have one.

I would gift my girlfriend with a new digital camera, she likes to shoot video and takes lots of pictures and she is still using an old Sony webbie camera from 2006 that mainly does poor video quality. She would love a new point and shoot :)
