i would buy my sister an ipad mini. this is because she is a student constantly on the go, however lacks the technical know how to use some technology. the reason i went with the ipad is because my gran who is technically challenged has easy use of the ipad. also she has wanted one for some time but dose not have the funds. the reason i went with the mini is because she is constantly on the move in the town her sixth form is as there are two campuses. i did not go with android because she has a iPhone 4s and enjoys the simple software also here college use ipads. personally i have the s6 and enjoy android but the ipad mini suits here need perfectly. i hope i have help other into finding the all important gift for your loved one and a merry christmas from the united kingdom.

That's an amazing giveaway, thank you guys I was thinking about Intel NUC for my parents, but then I realized that I have $300 to burn on amazon! A decent router, the Asus RT-AC3200 for my whole family. 

They're still using the default ISP router which can barely maintain connection to all the devices and doesn't have the range to cover the whole house. The main reason though is to set up VPN so I can remote into the network and fix everything that goes wrong from out of state.

The person I want to give a gift to is my wife to start this off she has a Hp EliteBook 8460p, which just dead on her a few months ago and we have been tight on money because of the holidays and whatnot, and i also want to mention that she did a lot of home schooling for our kids on this laptop so now i had to borrow a computer from work to let her do the schooling online but i want to get her this motherboard to start putting together a computer for her i have everything but a motherboard.

I choose the macbook pro because my grandparents have a very very very old computer and they need a better computer for their work, and to stay in contact with the family because the computer they have can't run skype very good and we need a way to stay in touch with them.
