Tech Gifts for Non-techies Giveaway!

My mom used to be all about tech in the 90s, but for some reason during the past 10 years she forgot how to use anything that requires electricity. She was really into music and movies, so she bought a home theater system, and a top of the line dvd player that could switch between almost 100 DVDs. Now she has trouble using a Roku. She refuses to listen to music on her phone so currently she uses a sony walkman with only 8gbs of space. With a Fiio x1 she can keep her music on a dedicated music player and use her own sd card so she is not limited on storage. Happy hollidays!

Hey Guys i would really love to get this pack of duel monitors because my dad absolutely loves to play games and i play with him sometimes and its really cool but his (2000000 year old tv) has recently broken badly and we cannot afford to replace it at the moment so its really upsetting. I can imagine the look on my dads face if he opened this on Christmas day. Thanks a bunch guys and keep up the awesome videos (-:

I would get a new wifi printer for my parents. They currently have an old desktop they use solely as a hub for the printer with it's own dedicated 'print room'. With a more compact, quick, wifi replacement they could get rid of their old hardware and free up an entire room in their house at the same time.

Multifunction is important, though they use it rarely but when they need it they need it, as well as speed because honestly, they are impatient. Ease of use and ability to connect to all devices is also a must.

Last year as my stepmothers laptop which she only used for the internet and holding what i thought was a few pictures peacefully passed from old age. Loving tech I made recommendation... That I am still dealing with on a very regular bases. I recommended a Samsung tablet to both save cost, up portability and battery life. after all how much do you need for the web.  However everything from a slow all over the place wireless signal (thanks Bell), to her taking 10 pictures of the dog to get a good one and then keeping them all.  Leaves her with a full tablet and the all the time question of I thought I bought this one because it was the good one?

SO being a sucker for punishment now i'm thinking i need to get her a WD mycloud on the network because it appears to have user friendly apps and loads of space to free up the Tab.

The reviews on this product are not where I would hope they would be.  Is this the tech community not liking it because its to simple, because that is what i need. If not a winner is this even a good idea or another 12 months of pain?

A Roku 4 for my parents. They bought a small smart TV for their bedroom this past Black Friday and I setup Netflix and Amazon on it. Now they are hooked and want to be able to watch that content in the living room too.

PS. This is a really unique way to handle a giveaway!

My dad does some light video editing with his computer.  Mostly videos from family get togethers and the like.  But right now he is doing that on a very old machine using a GT 220 for the 1080p rendering.  My dad works as a code monkey so he does not have the time to wait for the gpu to catch up.  I am currently working on getting him the components he needs to build a new machine for a daily driver.  For a GPU I am thinking of getting him a PNY GTX 960 4GB so he can scrub through the video better and get the job done.  I already have a leftover 4960k and VII Hero board for him from a previous build.

This is for my grandma! she's been using a broken iPad for such a long time and she gets frustrated so much.

Almost every week she has an operation because something is wrong with her hip, heart or leg..

I hope she gets it, it'll save some life years worth of frustration.

I want the WD Cloud Storage because my parents don't have a reliable cloud, and personally don't want to pay an online service because of the chances of it possibly getting hacked or them losing all of their photos due to a security breach.  I also want to get the router for my dad because he works from home and does lots of work on the internet.  Our ISP has shitty internet and he doesn't want to pay to upgrade so this will benefit him for his work.  I am cool with either gift as they are both under $300.  Happy Holidays!

A chromebook for my dad

he is still using a netbook as his main pc and a chromebook would suit his needs perfectly. He is a pilot so solid state storage is a must as well as it gets carried around alot and i got sick of replacing hard drives in his netbook.

Hi, I would like to give my parents a new dvd/surround system since the one they have just barely works. The dvd player doesn't have HDMI (it uses SCART only...), and the sound is crap.

And since my parents like to watch music programs on the TV and litsen to music in general, they deserve a better audio experience.

I would like to give this to my grandma because she is amazing and always buys me stuff (I'm 13 btw).

The item I would give her is a new tv for her bedroom because she still has one of those really old square tv's which looks awful (protech).

The link for the tv: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WR28U10/ref=twister_B010O0CBHU?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Thank you for this linustechtips.
