There's no excuse to be uninformed and making ignorant assumptions of people when you have the entire internet to do research on. The media picks out things that Trump says, takes them completely out of context, puts them out for the public, and claims it's racist. Those ignorant enough to believe it, well, believe it; those who actually do research on the candidates running for office will know he isn't constantly spouting racism.

As a Minnesotan I do think way to many Americans are way too proud of their country.

 

Obviously it's not all Americans (because if it was then I'll be damned.) The few that are the most vocal are the ones that are heard and are the ones who can and will garner hate or support.

 

Now stating that the US is the UK's greatest ally is a little pretentious because there are some points where that most likely isn't true.

 

Anglers in the Minnesotan boundary waters wanted that area to join Canada... If a republican tool was elected I wouldn't mind converting Minnesota into a Canadian province, though it wouldn't be very easy...

I agree that the corruption needs to be overthrown (I'll use this word for lack of a better term, but I'm not using overthrown in terms of using violence), but unfortunately nobody has the balls to do that. I'd like to say I do, but I can't uncorrupt the government by myself. Interestingly enough the US and its citizens are probably the most capable citizens to overthrow the corruption in the government, but unfortunately most are ignorant to the corruption anyways.

 

I agree that Americans are ignorant, but not for the reasons you think. From what I'm seeing, you think Americans are ignorant because they're uncultured and don't care about others. My generation is probably the most caring of others, and although it mainly knows nothing of the world outside of the US, they do care aside from the occasional exceptionally ignorant uneducated people who probably dropped out of high school so they don't matter anyways. I seem to think everyone is ignorant because of my reason stated above.

 

Really when it comes down to it I don't care about other cultures nearly as much as I do about America because as an American it is my duty to make my country the best it can be. Whether I'm doing a good job of that is completely subjective though. And my lack of caring shouldn't be mistaken for a lack of respect. I respect most cultures, but when it comes to it my duty to my country comes before my care of another.

 

It's clear that we have very different views on many things, so I'd like to end the discussion/argument while we're on a semi-not hostile note.
