Nvidia Re-launches Shield Tablet as Shield Tablet K1. Now $100 cheaper.

AlTech

Nvidia has relaunched it's Shield tablet but it's now called the Shield Tablet K1 and is identical to last year's shield tablet except there is no longer a 32Gb model and it is $100 cheaper.

IMHO - This is awful suspicious and shows Nvidia will probably want to release the Shield Tablet X1 with the Tegra X1 chip. And the $100 price cut is really awesome.

It is a much better tablet when you consider the price. If you want a $200 tablet there isn't a better option as far as I'm concerned

Holy fuck nvidia. How many times are you going to change the name of a product that had/has a "shield" in its name?

Only a million times of course.

Wow. I had to talk myself out of buying one at full price. This makes it impossible to deny.

I still wouldn't buy last year's gen even with that much taken off. Rather save up $1/day and get the latest by years end.

They removed the pen and USB cable according to some of the comments. Just something to keep in mind.

Pretty good tablet for the price now. But I don't see the point of 8" tablets go big (~10") or just get a big phone.

I own a big phone and I want a big tablet! But there's one small problemo. All mobile tablets are bad.

I really like my Sony Z4 Tablet. Only drawback was the price...

Wish Google would just make a true successor to the Nexus 10 already.

Oh nice! I was just looking the other day at one but decided not too. This makes it more tempting. It's a good thing it has a SDCard slot otherwise it would be a straight no with only 16GB storage space.

So they went with the K1 (Like Tegra K1) branding. That makes you wonder if they plan on introducing a model with the Tegra X1? So of course you wonder when that would be if it's happening. Which also makes you stop and think; should I buy this now? I would hate to buy this and then 3 months later they introduce a X1 model. Hmmmm...

What about the Nexus 9? I know it doesn't have as a big screen as the Nexus 10 but it could do the job

By the time this device reaches UK it will be 200GBP at least. For Eurozone folk this will equal 270 Euro or 300 USD. No thanks, plenty of other options out there.
