That was the most stressful boot i have ever lived. Its still alive! i whiped everything with a paper towel and let it dry for 24hrs!

Title says it all, the liquid is Ek-ekoolant Evo, if that matters at all here is a photo923f386b51203a9f5f462ee548fb5193.jpg

What should i do? Whip with a paper towel and hope for the best? Completely drain loop and put it in a hot and dey environement for a week?

Also, FML.

Doesn't look like it got on much.

Take computer apart, dry, put computer back together and pray it works. If it's not under the mobo you don't even need to take it apart. Just make sure it's not plugged in while you're drying it.

I used to be quite active here.

Thats what i think i'll try, hopping there isnt a single drop that got into a dimm / into the socket

Also, im super happy i unplugged the psu and drained the caps

don't power it on and wait a few days.

Puting the parts in a sealed box, like tupperware with a bunch of desiccant packets wouldn't hurt

muh specs 

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Well, was draining a part of the loop, had a container under a fitting.The container slipped ( full of liquid ). i used my normal human reflexes and catched it, only, the water didnt stay in the container as i slapped it with my hand to catch it

If the spill is fairly small just open up the case, point a desk fan at it on high, and air out the case for 24-48 hours. If it is a larger spill, take out your components and do the same thing.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

Water isn't going to instantly destroy your components if they're powered off. Take everything that got water on it apart (i.e. take the motherboard out of the case) and make sure it's completely dry before powering it on again and it should be fine.

Seriously, I don't think that this is a problem at all. Just try to remove as much as you can with a paper towel and let it dry for an hour.

I wouldn't use it in this case, but I use high proof alcohol in egregious cases to remove corrosion. Remember, distilled water is non conductive until it's contaminated.

High proof alcohol actually evaporates quickly, and helps remove water.

Didn't know that. Thanks! 

But to apply isopropal alcohol you would usually use a piece of cloth. And that alone removes the water already.

Sounds like it is counterproductive.

A lot of you guys recommend i take the motherboard out of the case, how would that be better then letting it dry in the case? I have already used paper towel and will wait 24hrs before powering the system back on
