A bit but you can get 3 blue stripes and 3 Reavers relatively early as soon as you reach Velen and its all fun from there. Just stay out of Oxenfurt if you don't have 3 Bitting Frost those fucking assholes love to spam Monsters.

Oh don't worry, I have yet to play a game I can't win with the base deck (going super heavy siege early game makes things kinda a joke), but I like the more complex strats the full decks I have at the end gives me, and I was really disappointed that while I can transfer literally everything else, I couldn't add that. I mean com'on... That was probably the only thing I truly dreaded collecting (because as much as I love the game, it really bugs me trying to hunt down random people for that one card I like).

Hell, you could start a drinking game out of it. Every new game release, follow these rules for AMD cards: 

 

Gameworks: 1 sip

PhysX: 1 sip

Stuttering: 4 sips

Devs complain: 2 sips

AMD complains: 3 sips

Nvidia denies allegations: 2 sips

Artifacting: 2 sips

Something happens called _____-gate: 5 sips

AMD takes over 1 month to fix: 3 sips

 

I don't want to hate on AMD, but at launch, it almost always seems like Nvidia has better drivers, sometimes even on gaming evolved titles. Although a lot of it is due to Nvidia's actions, that's no excuse to launch at a disadvantage, nearly every time. I know someone'll point out exceptions, but I remember so many launches favoring Nvidia at launch: Project Cars, GTA V, The Witcher III. AMD needs to step up their launch drivers before I'll consider them for my next card.

I've never played any Fallout game ever. Is this worth a pickup? Its between this and Syndicate. I'm buying too many games without touching them. :lol: I love the AC games though. And I'm not sure I want to pickup another RPG when I haven't come close to beating DA:I, TW3, DS:SotFS, etc.

The game is quite sad. There's no atmosphere of any kind, the world and all the characters are made of plastic, quests are linear. Instead of a tough post-apocalypse it's full of flowery gore. 2/10

 

P.S. at least they made a great minecraft out of this legendary RPG.

They're not going to reduce their driver overhead just like that. In fact, I don't even think they can. From what I've heard, AMD can't do the same tricks Nvidia is using as that work is done in software on Nvidia's side, and AMD can only do it on hardware.

game probably doesn't support that considering on r/pcmasterrace a guy show off his 1440p ultrawide, thhe right 1/4 of the screen was his desktop and the game took up a 16:9 area on the left side.

He's incorrect. AMD does have higher DX 11 driver overhead. However, AMD cards aren't getting their full potential in FO4 as of now because we don't have an optimized driver. We will get it "soon^TM" don't worry AMD users, it'll work well in a day or two ideally with a driver update. Being that nvidia is a cash cow, they have resources to throw at developers in the form of engineers which leads to day 0 drivers that are awesome in contrast to AMD's day 4 drivers or later, it really just depends on the game.

Maybe I should be more sensitive to people who are in unfortunate situations, such as living under a rock. That's the only explanation I have to explain how someone hasn't noticed the drivers AMD has been releasing these past few months that have been breathing new life into even cards that are 5 years old.

You jest, but they do: Tessellation. Something we already know they're using heavily on Fallout 4, even if it's not a Gameworks title officially.

We knew this for a few days, release performance basically confirms this exactly. I dont plan on buying the game but if an AMD owner can confirm he should be able to limit tessellation to 4x and see dramatic performance improvements.

Why do you think Nvidia has lower driver overhead than AMD? Nvidia heavily relies on drivers. Their driver does something that's able to increase the amount of draw calls made by the CPU, which can't be done under low-level hardware abstraction APIs, like DX12. That is why Nvidia's performance in AoS was worse with DX12 than with DX11.

From what I've heard, Nvidia replaces shaders and their driver is MT as well. I think it was Mahigan who said this.

Yes, the nVIDIA driver contains a compiler which re-compiles and replaces shaders which are not fine tuned to their architecture on a per game basis. 

NVidia's driver is also Multi-Threaded, making use of the idling CPU cores in order to recompile/replace shaders. The work nVIDIA does in software, under DX11, is the work AMD do in Hardware, under DX12, with their Asynchronous Compute Engines.

I've no idea what you're talking about, it seems like you 2 misinterpreted my post. The guy I replied to said AMD is going to fix their performance. I told him that's impossible and linked the explanation on why it isn't.

People on this forum make it sound like the 390 and 970 are completely different classes of cards. Come on, they trade blows, at least at 1080p. The 390 is the better card in more games, but there are still games like GTA V and Witcher 3 that the 970 wins on. It's not crazy for a 970 to outperform a 390 in some games.
