How much VRAM do I need?

I currently am using an Asus Nvidia Geforce 750ti GPU with 2gb vram and I was wondering if that would be enough...

 

• I use this pc to edit and render my YouTube videos.
• Need very nice high quality graphics

I used to use my 750ti to accelerate rendering in Adobe programs and it does work well however the key isn't to have a lot of VRAM unless you're doing 3D, the key is to have a lot of CUDA Cores.

An R9 380 ir GTX 960 would be a welcome upgrade for you. What are the specs of the rest of your system?

VRAM isn't the limiting factor as much as people think, core performance is. And frankly the 750 Ti doesn't exactly that to begin with, not like you'll be maxing anything anytime soon.

4GB (or 3.5 fast GB on the 970) are enough for 1080p

you would even be fine with 3GB

Depends what settings you play at in games... 2GB of VRAM is sufficient for 1080P gaming, although there are a handful of games that require more than 2GB of VRAM for higher texture quality. Assassin's Creed Unity, Far Cry 4 and Grand Theft Auto V for instance all run into some stuttering issues maxed out on a 2GB card.

 

For editing videos and such I don't think the amount of VRAM on your GPU makes a huge difference.
