i've just learned of this, but apparently FH3 now has microtransactions... in the form of "Tokens", which can be cashed in in exchange for credits or cars..

http://www.teamvvv.com/en/news/comments/Tokens-microtransactions-introduced-to-Forza-Horizon-3

so if you wanted to buy the most expensive car, it'll cost $100..

funny enough before release there were confirmations about FH3 having no microtransactions. and now here we are

So do the Dallara's. The closing speeds at times is quite drastic. Due to latency issues we made a rule that you have to pull out and pass leaving a moderate gap, not at the last second. If you waited too long to pull out from behind, it would often register as a hit on the person in front and they some times took damage, while the person behind appeared to take no contact at all. (silly PCars).

The final vote for season 7 has boiled down to the Formula Gulf and Group 5 class. I am completely torn as to which I want to do. lol. Both will be fun, but Gr.5 would definitely be more challenging...

Holy...

I love the way the GT3 Cup drives.

1:50.199, 8 seconds down on the 1:58.420 I can do in the GT4 Clubsport. The GT3-R is a bit trickier to master but and Ive only gotten down to 1:50s so far.

Mmmm the GT3 Cup makes all the right noises

The GT3-R is alright too I guess. Its a lot higher pitched in real life, and its a lot harder to drive at 9/10 than the Cup. But man does it have visual presence...

i quite like the GT3 Cup cars as well. i just did a 5 lap race with the AI at Spa with the 2016 and 2017 cars and it was a blast. granted i used a controller and i had to spend some time fiddling with controller settings but driving went well, surprisingly.

edit: also feels strange seeing that this is the last Porsche pack DLC. apart from the delayed 2017 Porsche there isn't any more coming, i guess..

They are developed for the Assetto Corsa PRO line of simulators that Porsche contracted them to make for their showrooms, hence why this is the car list they chose.

I ran a random multiplayer race yesterday on assetto in a Ferrari 458 gt2 car and recorded it. I haven't uploaded it yet because I didn't watch it, I had my mic on and rambled and commented about things while I was doing it, with large gaps of silence of course so it's probably a terrible video but idk if you guys want to see it, let me know.

It was on spa and I'm still terrible at spa haha, always have been bad at that track.  I think I got like 14th out of 22 or something... Could of been worse. Lol

Tried out the new cars from the final Porsche pack last night. Came to several conclusions...

-Absolutely love the 911 GT3 Cup and R race cars. They are a joy to drive and make a glorious sound. :D

-The old school 908, 917-K, 917/30, 962 and 935's all with the spool rear-ends, are all insane. I don't know how those drivers raced those things way back when, but I now have immense respect for them. Those cars are mental. lol

-The 911 R is now my new favorite street-going Porsche. It used to be the 911 GT3-RS, but they went and COMPLETELY RUINED IT with that stupid, horrible PDK transmission! :(  When I try to drive the GT3-RS quickly with the PDK, there's a massive disconnect between me and the car. It doesn't do what I want it to do, when I want it to do it. I tried giving it the benefit of the doubt. I tried spending more time with it, but I can't. I just can't. It's awful. It's NOT the same as the paddle-shift sequential transmissions in the 911 GT3 Cup and R race cars. Not at all. The PDK is terrible. Absolutely atrocious. I hate it. There are plenty of cars out there with auto-clutch transmissions (GTR, Ferrari's, Lambo's etc.) which are much better and far more drive-able (less "disconnected"). How Porsche got this so wrong, I don't know.

Now, the 911 R, on the other hand, with a full proper manual transmission, THAT is a machine!!! I can drive that thing way harder and faster with boat-loads more confidence and it's far more predictable BECAUSE IT DOES WHAT I TELL IT TO DO, WHEN I WANT IT TO DO IT. The 911 R retains the raw essence of the 911 bloodline and I hope they NEVER do away with a pure full manual in their 911's.

How do we know the game is accurate to the reali life transmission though?

I know it's a game. But this is a hard-core simulator with the soul purpose of being as realistic as possible. I am passing judgement based on how the car feels in the game as that is the only experience I will ever have with these cars (most likely). If the real life thing is better, then that's good. But for cars like this, I still hold to that the PDK takes away from the experience. It doesn't necessarily make the car faster (for me anyways) as I find it distracting when I'm trying to dive on the edge and the car doesn't do what I'm asking of it.

It's probably easier to drive and get used to in real life, I grant that. But in the game, I do not like it in the slightest. Just my personal preference. Give me 3 pedals and an H-shifter please. If, not, at least give me a paddle/sequential gearbox that actually work as it should (like in the GT/Cup cars). ;)

Meanwhile Im over here connecting much more with the Cup than the GT3-R. Its impossible to get heat into the front and get it to turn in consistently on the default setup.

Just doing some research for S&G

Amazing how some of the higher end prototypes get really close to single seaters in hp/kg.

I had no idea the LaFerrari and FXXK were weightless.

IIRC the LaF weighs around 1300kg

Needs money for car parts :P
