Why does linus use intel?

Hey, On all of the build guides and just plain all the builds on LTT they always use Intel based processors. Have they ever used amd at all? If they have not I would love to see them so some AMD Builds. Go Team Read      (AKA AMD)

AMD just doesn't offer the best performance, especially in the CPU division.

Sure AMD might offer more cores, but their single core performance is shit. 

Their GPUs are great for the $$$ though.

 

I mean they are using the SAME ARCHITECTURE FROM 2012.

Because every CPU AMD has made since 2011 has been outperformed by an Intel CPU

They used AMD in their budget 4k build.

 

 

They use Intel gives them cash money for sponsorship and also because these days Intel CPUs are the way to go for gaming because AMD CPUs hold back today's GPUs by a lot.

It´s mostly because AMD´s CPU´s are so Outdated there is no point using them.

They did an APU build some year ago i think but thats about it.

Because intel is better no matter what the price range is. AMD for CPUs just sucks right now

You can't bear the performance per core you get with intel, Linus will use whatever gives him the best performance.

It may look like he's a fanboy to you, but AMD has not given us anything that intel will never crush in terms of performance.

The stars died for you to be here today.

A locked bathroom in the right place can make all the difference in the world.

At the high end, Intel is better. At the low-mid end.... linus isn't a low-mid end guy/girl.

Well is there still a place for amd cpus???

 

for anything that isn't gaming or rendering, definitely yes. for office computers, AMD > Intel (at this point in time).

Hey, On all of the build guides and just plain all the builds on LTT they always use Intel based processors. Have they ever used amd at all? If they have not I would love to see them so some AMD Builds. Go Team Read      (AKA AMD)

ok, So what im getting here is that 1 for high end builds do Intel and for lower - mid range builds get amd.  and 2 Intel is LTTs "sugardady"

For anything gaming get Intel. For any task that would be intensive get Intel.

 

For 70 year old web browsing and email checking grandparents that don't even know what AMD or Intel is then get the AMD processor machine since it's cheaper and they won't notice anything to complain about.
