390X CF vs Fury CF

sms1202

Well here's the info for op to look at when deciding

It's a little naive to think that way because the prices are not the same everywhere. A Fury cf is only a $400(in my currency) more than one 980 ti. And I could get 2 390x for less than a 980 ti. I could easily have said that but none of that would've made sense if op doesn't share the same currency as me, same to you as well.

where did u get those benchmarks from the 980ti 9/10 beats the furyx

http://www.pcworld.com/article/2947547/components-graphics/amd-radeon-fury-crossfire-review-2-fast-2-furious.html

Crossfire just works better than SLI in most cases. 2 Fury cards manage to match 980Ti SLI with a few exceptions while costing less.

Please check the bench marks I posted

PC world in England anyways is a joke and the only people to post better cf benchmarks

I have a 980ti (2) and with a overclock to 1500 MHz it beats the the benchmarks I poster by 2-3fps

Sure, it manages to beat Fury CF when overclocked, but 2 Furies cost way less than 2 980TIs. And I'm talking about the air-cooled Fury, which costs $545 in Newegg.

Sure, sure, trust whatever sources you want, but don't forget that one Fury is closer priced to the 980 than the 980Ti and Fury CF will be way cheaper than 980Ti SLI.

Plus thies benchmarks are BS

They overclocked the 980s 4perceny past reference

Gpu boost 2.0 increases the clock to around 1320mhz on most of the 980,s

There same ish price for a sapphire tri furyx

And a normal fury all around the 470-500 mark

If ur spending a 1000 pound on gpus

You can get 2 evga 980ti's for

960 pound or 2 amd furys for 940

I am buying them from NCIX Canada and shipping it internationally.

The Fury Cf is what I can afford at best and I am convinced that the Fury in CF scaled better than 980 ti in SLI

Many people on the forum and the reviews I see from many sources claim Fury to be better in CF setup

Also the AMD Hardware is beefier than Nvidia ones(HBM is only what comes to my mind now)

Anyway I plan to buy a freesync monitor in the future too

Furys in cf will serve you just fine

And they do scale to 99 percent in some games, and will be great with a freesync monitor

They don't beat the 980ti's in sli however they are more expensive so if the furys are the best u can afford ul be fine

Resolution is something else to consider as the furys don't do as well at 1080p or 1440p

So if u were going with a non 4k monitor its worth considering sli 980s and a g sync monitor

I'm sure ul be happy with whatever you get tho

All benchmarks I see makes Fury Cf perform reasonably well and some case better than 980 ti(Sure you got the 980 ti in SLI Probably you got silicon lottery on both cards)

Gtx 980 seems like a stupid choice to me(Again Me being me here)

I do want to support AMD however I can & not because i am a fanboy as I did consider a single 980 ti (These guys are good guys and doesn't lock down everything for their hardware only)

Every little helps and if these guys end up capturing more share in GPU market that would mean better GPU's in future

No Titan X nonsense would exist

These could mean awesome flagships or slightly cut down flagships at the $500-$700 range

Go for the Dual Fury setup man....

worst case, you got a single R9 Fury.

Best case, you got TWO R9 Fury.....

so yeah... you'll be looking at good framerates either way. Also, the compute power of the R9 Fury is fucking insane. It's a order of magnitude higher then anything Nvidia has avaliable atm. So for DX12 performance, expect A LOT of performance in games using Asynchronous compute and Async Shaders

What about cryptocurrency mining and folding ?

Might consider bitcoin mining if doing it is worth it anymore

mining isnt worth it anymore....

ever since special hardware that was specially made to mine cryptocurrency came on the market, then using GPUs aint worth it...

These special devices... a 150 USD device can mine 500 times faster then a R9 290X...... so yeah.... the Fury is like 20% higher FLOPS then the 290X..... aint gonna be worth it.

The power draw of your cards will cause you more expenses on your powerbill then you can cover for with mining...GPU mining is dead.

yo fanboy we get it, you love Nvidia. now go away.

He didnt ask for a single 980Ti, he wants to purchase AMD. The question is, and will remain, 2x 390X or 2x Fury?.....

The logical answer is -> if you can afford 2x Fury, buy 2x Fury.....

Because it has single 980ti results next to cf furyx which is what op is asking about

And I'm on my phone

Are you sure?

I believe he asked about 390X vs Fury crossfire

I would go Fury...

oh wait...

I already did!!!

Which is a better investment ?

The 8gb 390x or the 4GB HBM Fury ?

Both are considered for dual CF

Im pitting both of these against a single 980 ti

If we say the stupid word "Future Proof " which is better

Anybody got any idea when a Vapor-X of any card would release ?

Are you sure?
