390X CF vs Fury CF

sms1202

Which is a better investment ?

The 8gb 390x or the 4GB HBM Fury ?

Both are considered for dual CF

Im pitting both of these against a single 980 ti

If we say the stupid word "Future Proof " which is better

Anybody got any idea when a Vapor-X of any card would release ?

I probably just get 2 390X's but then again it would be an even smarter upfront investment to get 1 980Ti now rather than starting yourself off with 2 cards

I don't plan to add a 2nd card it's either now or never

Also the rig this going in will be my 1st build. Which I would keep as a trophy item w/out any change when it becomes outdated

Wait, wot? If you dont plan on adding a second card why are we answering the question of which card to XFire?

Fury cards scale really good in higher resolutions and in Crossfire.

Also the Tri-X cooler is excellent, I doubt that they would release Vapor-X.

I meant about the 980 ti

I am buying it all at once

I can't justify getting a 2nd card to my parents

So if I am going dual card i have to do it all at once

I did see these

I am asking about 390x CF

Does more VRAM really help against fury

Well you have to also understand that 2 cards doesnt always mean better :/

In terms of performance, look above lol

Not really, unless you are playing things like heavily modded Skyrim. Get Fury CF if you can afford it, it's better in general. Afaik in DX12 the memory of both cards would be able to be combined in CF.

two furys outperform two 980tis. 4gb are not a problem for now, even at 4k. If you want to wait 5 years by that time it's likely 6gb won't be enough either, and the 390xs won't be fast enough to keep up with 8gb anyway.

I'd go for the furys

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Sorry but OP never asked about the Fury X, only the Fury.

That's alright, a mod could help you with that.

If ur spending a 1000 pound on gpus

You can get 2 evga 980ti's for

960 pound or 2 amd furys for 940

Hmm. One question, has op shared the prices of the cards he is looking at?

I wouldn't make a statement like that until op has shared more information with us.
