Hi guys was just having a heated discussion with some one in another post about pascal

They seem to think the Titan pascal cards will run witcher 3 max settings no aa 8kdsr

Does anyone else think this is ridicules

Given 2 Titans struggle to max witcher 3 at 4k

AMD (and proud) r7 1700 4ghz-

Honestly there is no telling what power the next generation of either AMD or NVidia GPU's will have to offer. We'll have to wait till they get close to release and wait for leaks to start appearing, then we can estimate performance.

I no its not out but nvdia aren't going to make cards that blow the old one out of the water they stretch it out over time

Same way that skylark hasn't made hasswell redundant

Well to be honest neither one of you are either right or wrong because nobody knows since that card isn't even close to being released let alone teased.

 

Nvidia has to first worry about straightening out their DX12 compatibility issues.

I second this. Also, one of his 8K DSR examples was Skyrim, which my GTX 970 maxes out even with Realvision ENB at 4K 60FPS. Even my GTX 650ti OC 2GB can max it out at 1080p with the same mods+settings.

lets get cards that run games at 4k 60fps solid, before we start worrying about 8k.

I honestly expect more from AMD's next big architecture than Nvidia.

 

After all AMD has been milking a now 4-5 year old architecture and still managing to keep up. 

It's still considered to be most advanced in compute even though most people think it's ancient. At least in every iteration of GCN AMD manages to make it competitive with the latest and greatest from Nvidia. Both Arctilc Islands and Pascal will be far more interesting if they finally move on from 28nm and GDDR5 IMO.

 

As for 8k - I doubt that it will be a thing soon. Even 4K gaming isn't really a thing and even the highest end cards struggle to run 4K games maxed out. It won't become as mainstream as 1080p anytime soon.

No the stupidity of you, saying that the only way to play PC games is at locked 60FPS.

Even my R9 290 which is 250$ now can play all games at 4K with decent settings and decent framerate.

I never said u can't play at less than 60 fps

But if ur looking at spending 4grand on a rig u don't want 40 fps

So if my GT 210 16GB is playing 12k 30FPS in Batman Skids of the knights in DX13... this is bad?
