Asus socket 1156 motherboard no freaking idea what the model number is

8GB Corsair DDR3 1333Mhz (around 1450Mhz thanks to baseclock overclocking)

MSI 980Ti @ 1450-1500Mhz depending what mood GPU boost is today

CX750M PSU that stinks and might blow up

Acer XB270HU that I got for half the new price because some dumbass returned because it had "too much backlight bleeding"

3000x€ on my savings specially reserved for Pascal and Skylake-E build

I'm not in this debate, but let me put it this way, there seems to be a shit load of misinformation about first gen i series CPU's in this forum, and no, 3K on Pascal could mean going Skylake too, it's not directly laid out in text form, but being British like me, i expect you to pick up on these things sonny jim.

My motherboard support 2-way SLI/CF don't worry. There is no single point for me to add a second 980Ti currently.

 

I'll wait till next summer and build a new system with a 6 core Skylake-E CPU and two GTX 1080's ONLY if they finally wake up and add Displayport 1.3 for 4K 120hz screens.

Well I agree but 1st and 2nd gen are night and day difference. The 2500K can overclock to 4.5-4.8Ghz without any problem.

 

So I recommend everyone to get a 980Ti and a 1440P 144hz monitor instead of upgrading their PC with a 6600K/6700K and a 970 for old ancient 1080P.

Only game that really pushes my CPU to the limit is Battlefield 4 64 players. Might get some dips from locked 144FPS to 100-110.

I'm still right ur i5 760 and 980 is not a 4k ultimate gaming machine

And neither is mine

So u are out right wrong

Ur preference on monitor is up to you

I'd take what I have over ur set up anyway of the week

 

of corse when u upgrade to the latest shit next year it will be 10 percent better but before this i had a a8 5500 and a r7260x 1gb 

so i upgraded now

pascal will be the same incremental update thats happened year on year since the dawn of time... nvidia won't be blowing the world away with pascal... whats the point?.. it would mean they just have to better it even more next time. a 1080ti** would be about 15-20% faster than a 980ti.. no more.
