Yes and the lifespan difference is probably going to be minimal but i still don't understand why overclock when 144hz is all we see, like i understand if it was native 200hz but they went out of there way to overclock it like wtf?

Good point, but remember that it has a G-Sync module, is not going to be at 200Hz all the time, unless you really have a beast PC that could even get to 200FPS all the time in all games.

The stars died for you to be here today.

Overclocking a monitor kills it? now I  might not get the Predator X34 cause that is only 100hz when overclocked

REMEMBER WHERE WE WERE A YEAR AGO with monitors...

thank satan the first real 200hz monitor is a 21:9 VA instead of a 16:9 TN trash, no?

Well, one of these days we'll get 3440x1440 144hz

well soon get 3440x1440 100hz

i dont like to be too spoiled and claim 100hz vs 144hz is a huge difference to me

200hz tho... makes me want to use 5120x2160 DSR on it and hope for the best

Ohh if only they could get 144Hz out of the curved ASUS! It's almost the perfect monitor.

Would there actually be a noticeable difference between 100hz and 144hz? It's like 44% increase in FPS being displayed which sounds like a lot but when frame rates are that high does it matter?

ya there is a difference from 100hz and 144hz its pretty noticeable but still 100hz is way better than 60hz and you feel that way more than the jump from 100-144hz so its not as noticeable.

Is the trade-off of 44hz less worth it to go Ultrawide then or should I just get a replacement for my faulty Acer 144hz XB270HU

i have never tried ultra wide but i really want to. so i cant really answer that. 100hz is already pretty good though but it depends what you play. its pretty important for games like cs go to have a high refresh rate.

I play quite a few different games CS:GO is one of them but only on Casual mode, I also play a lot of racing games but most of them are capped at 30-60 FPS anyways accept Grid and Project Cars don't have frame Caps. Basically a bit of everything lol even the occasional Pacman-DX (Addictive game)

That's a tough question. It depends on what sort of games you play as well.

Some games don't work at 21:9, and playing games at 16:9 with large black bars may bother you (depends on the person). I know it's something that would bother me, so i would keep a 16:9 monitor for those games that aren't supported.

Also there aren't many 100Hz monitos out there, it would be difficult to find an opinion of somebody who has owned an ultra-wide, a 100Hz monitor & a 144Hz monitor.

This guy is a good source of info on 21:9:

200hz seems over the top to me 144hz would be plenty why not put the resolution up a bit more.
