I'm considering the 390, 290x, or the 970. Is there any others I should consider? Which one is the best?

GTX 970 and R9 390. Do you want lower power consumption and generally lower temps or more VRAM?

Between the R9 390 and the 970, get whichever is the cheapest , unless you need Nvidia features.

As everybody, including the guy with a 970, are saying, go for the 390. I like ASUS cards, but which one you get doesn't really matter. :)
