"First date" questions?

Flashie

Hi.

I've always been a shy guy (mind my age) and most of the girls in my classes know so, but now my father and I took a the next 4 days off to go relax and do some errands at a house far from my own - so the chances of me bumping into one of them 200km's away from usual is very low. However, there's also a good chance I bump into a girl here at the camp - and here I have a clean slate with everyone. Do you guys have any good questions that could keep the conversation continually going between us? Pretty weird since I only talk to them once in a while and evens more rarely on online games - so I'm useless here c: Feel free to post your Do's, Dont's and experienced

Don't: Ask about ex's or anything like that

Don't: Talk just about yourself or just about her. Keep it even.

I've never even talked to a girl with the intent of romance, so take this with lotsa salt.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Calm down, is not like taking to a girl, oh wait I meant to say is not rocket science. Really just calm down, is not like a girl is something out of this world or anything, it's just a girl.

Having said that... Don't talk unless you are being asked something, keep your back straight, don't look her in the eyes, behave yourself Flashie

We discuss everything on LTT.

Except why we dislike the mods.

Don't do that.

That sentence doesn't even make sense.

@Toxicable top question so far :) @burnttoastnice yeah, wasn't sure or not, but what better advice to get, than from fellow techies :P

Just talk to people normally but approach her on your own. Ask whoever it may be for their name and just talk to them. It's not that hard.

This isn't a question for here. Or for any place on the internet, really
But if you don't know, ask about her.
Then you get to find out a lot...like how much she likes talking about herself  ;)

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Some tips:

  • Act/be interested in them.
  • Ask open ended questions (For example: "What kind of food do you like?" vs "Do you like Japanese food?")
  • Keep eye contact when talking.
  • Don't keep recycling your answers over and over.

These are some general socializing tips. They work really well, but not many people apply them. :T

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X            | Cooler: Deepcool AK400  | Motherboard: B550 Elite AX V2  | Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB  |

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB   | GPU: MSI RTX 3060 Ti    | Case: NZXT H440 (Red/Black)    | PSU: EVGA 650W G2             |
