Well I have a PS4, which I honestly only bought because I was working for EB Games and was all "I am not going to miss out on the console hype train this time" like I did with the PS3, i've owned my PS3 a grand total of like 5 months more than my PS4, ha.

 

I quite like my PS4, but i've also not turned it on in close to 2 months. Then again i've been solely using my PS3 for Netflix/Blu-Ray movies.

We have a Playstation 4. Currently it's mostly used as a media device and my son has a couple of titles he likes to play.

 

The console will probably always have a place on the market. Many things can be said about unboxing a PS4 or xbox 1 plugging it in and playing the latest titles. Some folks don't like messing around with PC's.

I'm 28 and i started playing when i was like 6-7? Now, after like 18 years of gaming/switching from consoles and pc back and forth i feel a little tired of my rig.

It's kinda hard to explain. Whenever i go to play games, i lock myself in my small hive attaching my ass to the desk. Wife is in the other room. I feel i can only play at night, because for some unknown reason i can't focus otherwise. When as playing on console i can do it no matter time and day. Lately i feel stressed when playing on my pc. Not physically but mentally. Maxing out every single game, reading about all the new hardware, constantly switching something and if not, thinking what could with it or buy for it. All the software, hardware, money. Again, when playing on console i felt relaxed. I was chilling, not caring for the framerate or hardware issues. I was getting the experience as it was. Me and my game, that's all. Now when i have time of my own, before i start the game i'm checking 2 mailboxes, fucktylion youtube videos of retards hurting each other, let's plays of some random idiots i don't give fuck about. Reading about new GPU, setups or other shit i don't have money for but still wonder how cool it would be to own it. How to maximise the fps in my game instead of just fucking playing it. And before i know it, instead of playing 3-4 hours i have 1 hour. I don't know, i sound like i'm loosing my shit. What happened to simple turn on the system and play. Now i have to deal with stupid shit like steam, origin, uplay, fucking battle.net, battle logs and who knows what will be next.

Sorry for the rant. I just had to.

So you don't appreciate the fact that you can mod Skyrim on PC while on your console you can't? Who is forcing you to play Vanilla just like on consoles, of course with much better graphics.

 

My 980Ti can play vanilla at 8K 60FPS all settings maxed out.

I think you missed the point. When playing on consoles you just don't feel the pressure, you don't get overwhelmed by all of this side-shit you can and must do with your game to get the proper experience. Where on console you just press the button and you go. As he said, it's the mindset. Of course the PC is superior and it'll always be. Sometimes people just want to forget the other shit exist.

No it's not. That's your own fault that your brain handles it that way.

 

If I connected a console to my 4K TV my eyes would simply start bleeding, that how bad it is, let alone 30hz, I can't even type an e-mail on a 60hz screen without getting frustrated about laginess and typo's because the screen is too slow.

 

Let alone over a few months when VR goes mainstream,and you come home from a hard day of work and you just want to get immersed in another world. My Acer XB270HU would probably just sit there and collect dust starting this November.

But consoles are PCs. The XBOne and PS4 in particular are fairly capable ones, not high spec but decent enough spec that they'd be passable. If you were to build a gaming PC for under your TV that's about the spec you'd go for unless you were loaded. The idea that consoles are a lesser option just because they're consoles is a joke.

 

Though again, what it comes down to is content. If you can play a game on one machine that you can't on another? If you really want to play that particular game? Then none of it matters. That's the platform you need to own to get that content.

I think right now it doesn't make any sense to buy an xbone or ps4 instead of a pc. Unless you MUST play one of the (few) exclusive titles currently available for them. As for the wii u, eh, at least it does something different, and it arguably offers the best exclusives by far. So... maybe. But not instead of a pc.

If you already have a PC then the only thing I can recommend is Nintendo's Consoles, I love my Wii U, it has some supurb games and I would be lost with out my 3DS.

I have an Xbox 360 but to be honest PS3 is good if you don't have a lot of money it has become cheaper and you do not have to pay for online services like Xbox PlayStation also has tons of cool exclusives like The Last of Us and Uncharted. If your looking for Next Gen consoles any console your comfortable with because they both have similar specs and graphics aren't that different.

Xbox One is not only cheaper to buy, but the games and Xbox Gold are also cheaper. Even the controllers are 15€ here.
