FedEx is funny. They lost one of my packages with a wii and a wii u and games in it worth at least $600 and they gave $200 compensation. The package was NEVER found, and that was a couple years ago

I shipped a rig from Minneapolis to Phoenix with Fedex. I removed all the cards and the cooler and wrapped them up and put them inside the case and then boxed everything. The only damage was a crack in the case window. Guess I got lucky.

See I'm a 21st century digital boy,
I don't know how to live but I've got a lot of toys.

this doesn't cause dents.

I have shipped over 50 pc and I fill the inside with packing foam and air pillows and this is the first time I have had an issue and also its the first Mini Itx I have shipped. The box was Crushed and the whole case Is bent like it has been in a front end collision so even if I would have taken them out It would have been destroyed. the case is pushed in to the point that the mounting screws on the Motherboard are torn out and the board is cracked

Did you package it flat yes ? like Sideways so that way the CPU cooler is being held down by gravity ?   Not this | but like this ___

Whenever something ships fedex I start to get cold sweats. One reason I stopped using newegg.

Was the box labeled fragile? Doesn't usually stop people from tossing your stuff around but it'll help your claim with them.

the lesson we can always learn from these things is that buying prebuilt system is a bad idea.

buying this separately would always be better.

Unless ofc you had bought the prebuilt system off premium builders like DS, puget etc.

in my experience those kinds of companies do a heck of a better job at packaging their stuff.

Happens with UPS and USPS.. I my self, whom ships a lot for work. I use FedEX, I have found them to be them to be the better end of the stick

To OP, That blows. I hope it all goes well with FedEX,

....people need to realize that majority of FedEx/ups packages also go though USPS. Shipping companies are each others largest customers. Why would ups put a building in every town for the one package a day that goes though when they can pay USPS a few bucks go deliver it?

Moral of the story, always have insurance. My computer was shipped to me whole via UPS, but ups themselves packaged it and had 1000$ of insurance I believe.

I think someone made quite a good money or made their child/themselves happy.

My roommate works for a online pet shop and they work with one delivery company (I won't tell a name). They have so many lost packages...

Car takes goods from one warehouse and transport it to another country to another warehouse... when a second car comes to take goods from that warehouse, it magically disappears.

I can't imagine how they can steal so many packages without anyone noticing, this is ridiculous.

how was it packaged? I mean there's no type of packaging that can prevent this, but I'm curious as far as ability to make a claim

2.5 in Hard foam on the top and that wrapped around about 3 inchs over on all sides then I placed cardboard corner stiffeners and air pillows everywhere else I could shove one. the PC itself was wrapped with Plastic and then covered with thin foam. on the insid there was soft molded foam in the main area and air pillows anywhere the was a gap.

so I took the system apart and was going to try to see what components were working I was about to slap them in my http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/413624-what-makes-the-green-grass-grow-build-log/ Just to test because I was in the middle of putting everything in it to see if it works before water cooling. I picked up the gpu as was looking to see how I took off the back plate when I noticed that on the front part of the PCIE connector there was some Char. So what happened was the Idiot that I sent the computer did was plug the system in and turned it on then started to reconnect crap. Idiot so Im safe to assume that the card if shot and there no way in hell thats going in my new system so ill be testing the board and PSU tonight and If its good ill likely slap them in the classifieds along with the ram and 4790k.

Im likely to assume that the board and possibly psu is also shot but ill have to test them first. but i was able to use the 256gb ssd and the 2tb drive in my other build to make it more beastly
