Logitech announced the first product under its groovy new "Logi" brand: an iPad cover and keyboard known as the Logi BLOK.

In its simplest form, it's a $39.99 protective iPad shell with some bouncy smash proofing added to the edges.

It's also a $69.99 iPad case, which is basically the shell plus a cover that doubles as a stand.

Or it's a $129.99 keyboard case, which as you can figure out is the shell and a wireless keyboard that lets you use the iPad like a notebook computer.

They could have done something exceptional for their new product under new name

Logi is just a sub brand for more "fun" consumer gadgets like iPad cases and bluetooth keyboards, I think its a really smart move

Before I started reading--I thought they were making their own hybrid tablet / laptop and I got so freakin' excited, and then I saw it was a cover.  The level of disappointment I felt.  I will never forget this day.

Is Logi really just a sub brand? I hope it is because I will die a little on the inside if I start seeing regular Logitech products being branded as 'Logi'.

According to that article above

"Meanwhile, the Logitech brand isn't going anywhere. It will still be around for the mice, keyboards, webcams and universal remote controls, at least for the foreseeable future. "Logi" is just a sub-brand for more colourful, I guess you might say lifestyle-oriented products."

actulay logitech said this in the anouncment

But Logitech says, that if everything goes accordingly, Logi will be the name inscribed on almost all the things it makes, because tech isn’t spoken anymore—it’s understood

yeah I saw that part too, but I bet they keep it for stuff like mice and keyboards, and use Logi for things like speakers, ipad cases etc
