One side uses some 15'' dell laptop with an pentium m 1,5 ghz and integrated graphics and the other side uses some 17'' widescreen laptop with an i5 or i7 and hd 7470 or something. Also don't expect computers to simply die when theyre used as lightly and carefully as grandparents usually use computers.

Some old HP pc (no idea of the specs)

Windows xp

And he's still using floppy's !?!?!

But i think (for the last 2 years) it will die today or tomorrow. So I can build a new one. (I asked a few times but he said it's still working "fine" , except that loading a webpage takes some time (1-3 min))

But my other grandma is using a Iphone 5, ipod classic, acer aspire V3 and has a HUGE 64" tv.

(the HP one is 56 and the "tech" one is 64 years old) :)

What are your grandparents running in their rig?

Disclaimer: I only glanced at the specs before i had to leave. My grandfather has:

Cooler master case

MSI mobo

Intel i7 codename Bloomfield

GT220

GT9000?

AIO liquid cooler 140mm rad

550w psu from cooler master

500gb HDD

It idles at 50 degrees and 65% of the memory is consistently used. The amount of icons on the desktop has me twitching.

I will be upgrading the graphics to something a little more modern.

why does your grandfather need a i7?

I had to go over to my grandparents a while back, emails didn't save.

Turned out they had an old 16GB harddrive of my dads, so they was essentially no space left after OS and a couple programs.

He didn't even know he had even owned a HDD that small...
