been playing pokemon for ~15 years and I'd say playing competitively kind of ruined casually playing it like i used to

 

been playing soul silver and have not once looked at my pokemons stats/ivs/evs and having fun with it

I dont do stats and stuff in main game, only in breeding and stuff.

I think casuals are killing Pokemon, not necessarily competitive

i definitely agree with that, the games should get more challenging and not easier

I've been playing generation V a lot lately, without Audinos giving massive amounts of experience I don't know how I'd make it through those games.

I got into Pokemon when I was 4 right before I went in for surgery. A nurse gave me a gameboy after I had a needle stuck in my arm and I played it for a bit while I was waiting. I was almost instantly hooked and played every version of the game up until the end of the GBA days, even played the gamecube games and I feel the Colosseum titles were the better pokemon games. I never played them after, though, as I stopped caring for handheld/nintendo consoles afterward.

How many people here play the TCG competitively? I'm planning on learning to drive over the summer and stepping up my play for next season

I have wanted to, but I have never practiced for it.. I'm more of a collector now, feel like it's too late to get into competitive Pokemon TCG

if you go to a tournament, do you need to buy your own cards for it?? Because that would cost a lot, because you sometimes need specific cards..

But regardless, I'd be up for a battle next week sometime.  Right now I'm busy planning for the 4th of July and playing Terraria on Expert Mode.
