Cable management. It's never good enough. Probably it wont be visually messy on front, but you know the mess is somewhere else and cannot be solved... so you just put it aside and forget it's there until the next rearrangement/cleanup/upgrade. 

 

btw, not a perfection guy but opening the backdoor in my case drains my geeky spirit.

The moment you press the power button and nothing happens.

For me the least favorite part is installing all of the software.

 

So many restarts and so time consuming.

I had plugging in front panel connectors. Especially in small cases

Mine has to be the extreme mess I create. My whole bedroom gets covered with boxes, components and cables. Even if I try to make it organised, it doesn't.

The lube? I don't think it advised to put your penis in a cpu cooler, I've never seen that in a build log

The part I hate the most is when I put the machine together, fire it up.. and nothing happens. Then I get to unplug everything, plug it all back in, and *then* it starts up.

I'm curious what is everyone's favorite and least favorite thing about building computers? I always loved that first boot knowing you got it too work. My least favorite is that few seconds before you boot I get this tense moment of "what if it doesn't boot?!"

I never had a least favorite

My favorite is seeing all of the boxes with the components b4 installing them

Booting up the system on your first try is soooo satisfying.

 

My least favorite is trying to get a clean look but sometimes the wiring placement won't cooperate.

thermal compound is really the only thing I hate

Least favourite: putting the cpu in the socket.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.
