I know that you said you didn't want to spend all holiday on your computer but you could always give yourself something productive to do, programming, 3d modeling, become a photoshop master, hammer.

Where abouts in the uk may I ask? If you are willing to do some traveling you could go mountain biking. There are some good trails spotted around the country.

go do what I'm going to do, get a mountain bike and ride daily, while working on a little project(se my signature for the project)

Go out and do something with your friends. Have a barbeque, go swimming, go for a bike ride. 

If you're into cars, maybe go and hang out at track days (Brands Hatch and Donnington often have track days I believe)
