A revolution in mid-tower cases - the Defcon One

Oh I had an idea yall might like, feel free to use it.

People are always making these tiny form factor cases so that people can have a PC in the living room,, right? Why not a coffee table case (glass top or not), or maybe, an entertainment center (TV stand?) desk.

That way you don't have the pain and irritation of working with a small case, and all the great cooling that comes with a bigger case.

Thats is neat idea, and in fact my partner already had a project like that one in the works! a desk case that doesn't look too much like a spaceship while still allowing for great liquid cooling :)

Well, if you don't mind fans in the case, then it's not that big of a deal - if you prefer removing them as much as possible and have the components "take care of themselves" by maximing the way the case allows cooling, I guess it's more relevant :)

Glad you like the idea tho!

It's made entirely of 1.5mm alluminum, asides from the plexi of course, lol

NIce. There is a shortage of aluminum cases on the market. That makes it much more intersting to me.

The fans push that air towards the CPU before it goes up.

how?

We did consider putting actual glass instead of plexi, but the price might rise too much - we'll likely put it as a future optional :)

even so, with open design most of it just goes up. Mabey  a tiny bit goes to the CPU, but its negligable.

This seems like an intersting case.

BUt, i dont need a new case, as mine cost my 200$, i want it to last.

In open air, it sucks air in and pushes it to the side/down with little bit going to the back, that air that's pushed to the side/down goes to the CPU.

Likely it will, but given the mass of air that the two bottom fans push up the enthalpy from the GPU air in this case is negligible. :)

Sounds cool.

Personally, I don't get what people have against having a full tower case in their living room. If you're gonna spend a few grand on a gaming/entertainment setup, why not make it look amazing? Even if it doesn't glow like a rave (which is my preference in pc design)

Agree with the "show your case off part" but I personally prefer smaller cases - they are more 'spare efficient" :)

Bah, I prefer performance to space efficiency, also looks. (a big shiny tower is better looking to me than a small one)

That's a pretty sexy case. Wonder when Thermaltake's one comes out.

That has got to be the best first comment on LTT so far in 2015.

Yup, I am the creator/designer of the project;

Trying to give it visibility and gather additional feedback to try and make the campaign successful, in addition to answering questions :)

Indeed so! there are only 2 parts that are riveted together - everything else can easily be disassembled for modding :D

And thanks man, be sure to share the project and help fund it! :D
