I never understood case lighting in any way shape or form. Lighting on fans, LEDs on GPUs, etc. You're looking at your MONITOR when doing stuff with the computer, not the computer itself.

 

So this is useless. SSDs are sold based on speed, not on flashy LEDs.

Didn't say it's pointless to make it look good. If you like to make it look good, then go ahead and make your machine look good. Modding was suppose to be about changing one thing to something else, like your standard rectangular case into a object that you like or something. Adding some leds or your favorite logos to a SSD on your own is called modding. Buying one already with lights isn't call modding. It's just called you bought a SSD with LED on it.

Some cases have a nice place to show your ssd, but it's sometimes hard to get light to it soo.

T_T Just as I finish my damn build and settle for corsair force gs ssds as they're the only matching colour drives (I know red, original huh?) I must has!

I don't see a practical use for the LEDs. Hell, my 250GB 840 EVO started out behind my mobo tray and now it's in a normal drive caddy. My 120GB EVO in my weekend rig is stuffed between the top of the case and the ODD.
