They must really not want to sell any more TitanX's...

looks like people that bought Titan X on a whim should've waited

GTX980 Ti seems to be 300$ less than a Titan X with very similar performance, but 6Gb of VRAM short

Except that 4K Ultra settings for GTA 5 uses nearly 8 GB of VRAM.  So depends on the user (and those who bought a Titan X, we know who those types of users are).

The only indication we have on the 700 dollar price point is the 780 TI which was 700 dollar

But with the 980 TI having a bigger chip and double the memory, it's probably going to be a bit more expensive.

1582Mhz under heaven measured with gpuz and msi afterburnner. I can get it higher but not without reducing the load.

I seriously doubt that. The people I know that own the T X easily exceed 6GB of VRAM in the games they play, especially at 4K.

Here's one with GTA V

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=28074679&postcount=530

If I recall playing GTAV on my 290x CrossfireX the game reports all mirrored memory as did GPU-Z, Game reports 5500MB of VRAM usage and GPU-Z 5134MB  so its only using 2.5GBish on each card, it's just both report the total mirrored across GPU's and with x4 TX's hes only using about 2.0GBish per card not 8GB on each. All at 2160p as well. GTAV can push close to 4GB if you go nuts with the Advance graphics settings.

At the most, depending on how NV handles SLI with four GPU's maybe 4GB per card, but definitely not more than that.

AMD Ryzen 5900x, Nvidia RTX 3080 (MSI Gaming X-trio), ASrock X570 Extreme4, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB @ 3200mhz CL16, Corsair MP600 1TB, Intel 660P 1TB, Corsair HX1000, Corsair 680x, Corsair H100i Platinum

Nope, the gtx 980ti does not have the same amount of processors as the r9 290x. Nvidia uses cuda cores and mad stream processors and both have a different structure and can not be said to be equal.

As one who studies computer architectures in his spare time when not coding, CUDA cores and stream processors are very much equivalent. What isn't equivalent is the controller and the Compute Unit vs. SMM.

I'm rather worried about that really, as in the EU we basically get a 1-1 conversion from the dollar with extra tax anv at added. If that's the case the 980 Ti might well launch at £699, and places like Overclockers.co.uk are currently selling some Titan X's at £799.

In that case the Titan X still looks a better buy for the performance and VRAM increase for only 100 more.

Will have to wait and see what the launch price is, and how much custom boards will cost.

In game performance is what counts, not silly benchmarks. That's where you will see the price/performance ratio kick in.  Unless you believe the 980 Ti cards are Titan rejected bins.... tin foil hat.

This was the card that I was hoping for.... but alas it came too late. Already got a GTX 770 4 Gb to tide me over.

980TI is a rejected Titan X. It's the exact same die with some units disabled.

Honestly all i care about is the pricing and how the price:performance ratio compares to Titan X and 980.

If u have money to spend and can buy new GPU in 8 months then i dont see a reason not to.

Nvidia said that Pascal is coming in 2016, not at the emd of this year like 900 series did.

Im very budget orientated person so im waiting for that 1070 or 1080. All depends on the VR headsets.

I'll wait, because I own GTX780, so it should hold off until 2016. Plus I'm planning to get some other stuff as well this year.

I am in the same boat as you. I own a GTX780 and I'll wait for pascal to see how it will perform.

Buying a 980Ti now is like flushing the money down the toilet.

There have been numerous leaks going on months now, if you still think this card is fake, I don't know what to tell you. There also has been actual shots of the video card too:
