i dont know why people like anime? i tried watching them a 100 times they are just so boring to me i dont understand why its so poplar? the only anime i love is the boondocks which is freaken funny black TV show but other then that they are all boring, why do people like those show? what is there to like?

I'm not a fan of anime.

Anime has its target audience. You can't simply ask someone "why" they like it. Because their answer would be subjective. This is a subjective topic, so unless you'd want people to express that they like it for reasons personal to them, I don't think you'll get the answer you're after.

Why do people like any media? It's all a matter of taste.

As I see it, anime is media just like an American sitcom or a British sketch show. 

There might be some gems, but you have to just wade through the piles of mediocre and bad media. 

For every Breaking Bad, there are hundreds of Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo.

For every Cowboy Bebop there are hundreds of School Days.

Why do people like any cartoons (family guy/ simpsons/scooby-doo) or Soaps (pretty much slice of life) or action/adventure films/shows?

 

You could say the same to anything which you don't like. I don't like this so why should anyone else?...

To say all anime is the same is to say cartoons are the same. South Park and Archer are NOT like My Little Pony and Dexter's Lab.

 

There are quite a few good animes to watch that even an adult will enjoy, just like there are a few cartoons you'd enjoy like the aforementioned Archer and South Park. There's a bit more variety to it though, so even some great anime like Trigun may not appeal to you if its humor and pacing doesn't appeal to you. What are some television shows you like? That'd be an easy way to get a recommendation for a good anime suited to your tastes.

 

I mean, sometimes I really enjoy a really stupid, silly, hilarious, and fun anime, other times something like Steins;Gate is epic. Just depends.

EDIT : @saiftech the link i posted contains a graf , we're used to that , right ? check it out whether you like anime or have no ideea why some people like them , then tell me which Movie has that kind of score on IMDB ; or better yet : watch it and then come back here to reply

 

fyi : the plot starts kinda slow in the first 6 episodes , but after that you probably won't end the day without ending the entire anime ; if u have a hard time getting trough 1st 6 , do one/day - 20 minutes/day

if you must know anime are divided by genres and ages too, if you watch the wrong ones, that's what you get

Pretty sure Steins; Gate falls under all of that.

 

i watched naruto and the last air bander all pretty boring for me and i dont know why? i heard the last air bender is a pretty great show?

Talk about starting with the wrong anime if you're looking for something exciting. 

Take a look at Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann or Attack on Titan (more so the first half) if you don't want something boring. Do note that TTGL is dumb and it knows it. Turn off a bit of your brain and it's a very fun ride.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is one of the must-watches if I had to recommend one.

If you're into something to invest less time in, movies like Redline, The Garden of Words, and Summer Wars are great for different reasons.

Sounds like a question you can answer yourself...

Personally I enjoyed Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo and SOA (season 1) and have been meaning to watch Attack on Titan but there are others I didn't like too just as with any genre.

Because they are fun? I watch some anime because the story and characters appeal to me. Same reason why I like movies, tv shows, books, comics or video games.

 

OP I understand your frustration with anime and I remember asking it all the time (I went through twenty animes before I found Tora Dora). When I started watching anime it was because I had experienced the greats like Dragon Ball, Akira, Ghost in the Shell and Naruto and expected them all to be amazing. So I went out to look for more anime only to be heavily disappointed with 90% of it. It is a matter of finding what appeals to you, because it will exist in anime. So just like with cartoons/etc not all anime is good.

 

Maybe it will help if you watch some of the greater anime out there and then slowly move forward.

As was already said every person likes something different. 

 

But for me it could be because there aren't much tv series or films with good plot or idea. 

 

But there are lots of animes with even more genres, stories etc.
