Steam download speeds

In all seriousness, what kind of speeds do you guys get with your steam downloads? I get a solid 1.7MB/s

Well... Steam speeds are by far the best speeds I experience anywhere on the net and you guys are trouncing that speed... feelsbadman (my 1.7 is wired).

 

And since I started this thread, my "solid" 1.7MB/s, which has been the case for at least a year, has suddenly dipped to 200KB/s... wut

8-18mbps, my friends get mad at me when my games install faster than we can all play them.

Legend says Steam downloads are actually more than your actual connection.

Cause to my understanding 5Mbps is not 987KBps (Maybe I´m getting more than my ISP says, but me and Speedtest both doubt so)

I get a constand 8MB/s download speed. Since the summer sale, their FTP servers have been hammered constantly. Lately, on most occasions, my download speeds have been around 200KB/s hehe... 

 

I feel so bad for steam, they are getting hammered hard and the stress must be getting to them  :unsure:
