You need to update their Security Essentials :)

heh, i just have her use it because she still thinks 24/7 anti virus still matters

when I come in once a week and just run scans, defrag and clean it up

then turn on the (security) for her false security :P

Pretty sure my mom is using a pre built ASUS i7-2600 with 8GB RAM with a 22 inch 1080p monitor, beyond that I have no idea. They opted to have a pre built for the warranty ease. Otherwise I would have built one for them.

Are you sure about that, that seems very low because my laptop battery capacity is 47,520mAh (or was, showing a 39% wear rate)

A quick Google search of the product number "FPCBP145" confirms it as well.

I refused to help my mum buy a new pre-built PC since She'd get ripped off. Built this for the same price as a Pentium + 4gb ram + no dedicated gpu + no ssd. I had the GT 630 from a contest I won at Novatech- Good shop.

Is that the Novatech Vulcan? Great case for its price! Novatech are awesome! I was at their most recent event, the Nvidia day down in Portsmouth. Nearly won myself a 760. I was 5 seconds away.

Almost identical case. The Vulcan may actually be the replacement.

 

It was a really good event. Yeah the Reading store would be great for a BBQ. I'm in Swindon atm so I'm pretty much in the middle of all of the stores. Bristol would be good for some events as well. Cardiff not quite as good though.

My dad "uses" a Dell Optiplex GX620 with a P4 @2.8Ghz. Though he almost never touches it because he has a company laptop with a i5 and at work he uses a Dell desktop with a i7 3770, so he never really cares to use his desktop at home.

Does by any chance the desktop cost 1000$~?

We are a Mac family. She has the oldest laptop in the house which is a 1st Gen Macbook Air 11"

Has some 1.6GHz POS that overheats when playing YouTube videos in 240p.

The first gen was just rubbish

My parents (they don't have seperate computers) have a 2009 MacBook, which, after years of internet, email, skype and Office usage, is slow as hell. Need to upgrade RAM and clean HDD

my mums, which is kinda more mine and my sisters, as we bought it way back then, but we have our own now...

 

skt 775 pentium dual core

2gb ram

integrated nvidia gt 7050

windows vista :( :( :(

 

whilst the gpu is rubbish, it shouldnt be that bad. however, its absolutely awful as vista is unbelievably slow and loves to crash when you attempt to do the simplest of things lol 

btw its 6 years old or something, and tbh, it wasnt too bad back in its day
