I don't know.

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Just some helpful stuff: You're - You are, Your - Your car, They're - They are, Their - Their car, There - Over there.

that "rubbish" psu is a seasonic on the inside

It's their cheaper version. The plastic on the end of the connecters is really cheap. You could snapped it with your pinky. I accidentally snapped 2 just by plugging the SSD in.

I gave my dad my old system with a E6400 & 9600GT... As far as my mom, I'm not sure if she's upgraded since I've seen her which was several years ago. Back then she had an old ass POS all in one iMAC, it was the only computer she ever had so if she did get a new system it's probably another POS iMAC. Guess I should ask next time I talk with her...

CPU: i5 4690K  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100   Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97X UD3H   Memory: G.Skill (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866   Storage: Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5" SSD/Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM   GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti SC 2GB   Case: Cooler Master CM 690 II (Black) ATX Mid Tower   PSU: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650M 650W 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified   Optical Drive: MSI DH-24AAS-17 R DVD/CD Writer   Operating System: Windows 10 Pro (64 bit)

This is the one I built for her (and my dad) recently (it was a rush job in a few hours one afternoon after the motherboard on their previous rig, a Dell, died suddenly):

Case: Corsair Carbide 300R

PSU: Antec Earthwatts 430W

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H

CPU: Intel Core i5-3450S

Memory: 2x4GB Partiot 1600MHz

Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 4600 series (can't recall exact model) (reused)

Hard Drive: Seagate 750GB Barracuda (reused)

Optical Drive: LG DVD Burner (reused)

I later added an SSD and replaced the video card with my previous one (7850) when I replaced it with a 7970.

Not too shabby of a system, and it should suit their needs for years to come.

System: Intel Core i5 3570K OC@ 4.4GHz | Cooler Master Hyper N520 | ASUS Maximus V Gene | 8GB Mushkin 1866MHz RAM | MSI R7970 Lightning | Seasonic X-850 | Fractal Design Define R4 White Windowed Edition

Peripherals: BenQ XL2420T 1920x1080@120Hz | Filco Majestouch 2 Tenkeyless (with Cherry MX Browns) Mechanical Keyboard | Razer DeathAdder Left-handed Edition Mouse | ODAC to various things

This is the bottom of the line one with no upgrades. Your friend might have a higher spec one.

Oh yeah that makes sense. Now I'm forcing him to get a new laptop (doesn't matter if it's apple or other stuff). His battery is the best battery i've ever seen. Can't even hold for 30 mins idle. 1080p drains his battery in 5 mins.

yeah, she couldn't decide anything so I thought it would remind her of her garden we used to have when i was a kid

and she loved it

I wanted to full mod it, but I wanted her to know how to do things and visibly see it was still windows (she isn't stupid) but making it look like linux mint or someshit wont help :P

My mum has 3 phones... She doesn't need a computer, but when she does, she uses mine which will probably be hers soon... which has a 3770k and GTX 680.
