Post your Mum's Rig

Lil Chillbil

We all know that we have some awesome rigs on here. But what about our parents?

My mom's got this old dell btx tower

Specs

2.8Ghz Pentium D

2Gb 667mhz ddr2

40gb hdd

300watt btx psu

x1300 overclocked

Windows 7 64

10048.jpg

Its a basic web browsing machine. I was going to put something like a 295 in there but it just would not fit in there because it is BTX same with the 620 watt antec psu I ordered.

When this machine fails i'll most likely upgrade her to a core 2 duo 3.0ghz and 480 and thats looking like it could be soon

My mom is using my rig from about 8 years ago, that she bought me from Dell. It's got some Pentium 4 in it, 160gb hdd, Vista, and that's all I remember.

It's funny how content some parents can be with their computers.

My mum and sister use my old pre-built rig. Q6600 processor, 3GB of DDR2 RAM (eh) and a Radeon HD 6570 which I upgraded from an 8400GS. Nothing special.

We have an older computer too, but I don't remember the specs.

I built my mom (and dad) a fairly decent rig.  I3 (1st gen this was a while ago), Gigabyte mobo, crucial ram, nzxt case.  I can't remember the specific models but it's been running great for years now.

My mom has two computers (one for work, one for home). The work computer is a 15" Macbook Pro (recent, but I don't know what exact year), and the home PC is a generic HP desktop with some AMD Athlon CPU (not sure what model), 6 GB RAM (not sure what speed), 1 TB 7200rpm HDD, and my old Radeon HD 6950 (which I got for free from a friend).

She dominates everything in Civilizaton 5, so it's not like she doesn't need a moderately decent GPU (especially one that I got for free).

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

its some $1000 Dell laptop that her company provided (but its a really bad laptop)

17", core i3, 4gb ddr3, some low capacity hdd, and integrated graphics hd 3000. the wifi doesn't even work

i guess it was that much because it came with a lot of software but overall its not very good.

My mum is using either the ASUS TF300T or the Macbook Pro 13'' Retina Model ( i really find it strange that she likes android 4.2 more than iPad Ios6 lol.)

My dad is using a Dell laptop that he got from work it's worth about €5000 cause it's dust proof and you can drop it from 1-2 meters height and nothing will happen to it , if linus would do a flex test on it his arm would break rather than the laptop lol :P Specs are also quiet nice : 3rd gen Core i7 vPro , 16 Gb ddr3 ram , 512 GB SSD's in raid 1 , And some nvidia quadro Gpu i don't know the exact model , TPM and all that good shit.

And i'm just sitting here with a crappy arrandale i5 laptop with a 5650 :'( , Sigh my gaming pc really needs to come back :'( I miss my baby!

My fathers old computer. Pentium D 805 @ 2.66ghz, 2GB of DDR2, 200GB IDE hardrive, 320GB Seagate thing that I put windows 7 on...  I think the most up to date part is a HD6450 that I put in there so they could watch high definition videos with XBMC.
