What do you do with your old piece of crap laptop when you get a new much better one?


I tend to just leave it somewhere but I really wonder what you guys would do.

I have an old Packard Bell laptop set up to run a small Minecrat server. It does that job just fine. 

Low powered netbooks can usually be quite usefull as a torrent box.

 

But I tend to give old laptops to goodwill.

Depends how crappy it is. I bet you can find someone to buy it for some kind of money even if its old. Better to make a quick buck than have smashed pieces on the ground to clean up

Install Lubuntu on it, and set to run a torrent client.

If that is not your style, you could plug some USB HDDs into it, and make it into network storage.

Meh, I would throw a cheap SSD in there and some more RAM just to speed it up a bit, then maybe keep it as a spare or sell it.
