Face spasms after hitting head?

Guest

So today I hit my head really, really hard in an incident with a doorknob.

My right face started spasming, then it stopped for a while. Now that I am drinking alcohol with friends it is acting up again. When I game it doesn't.

It is my right face really, sometimes eyelid, more my neck etc.. My neck also was very stiff but that has improved, still stiff though. It's mainly the right 'side' of my head and not so much my face. Also the right upper side.

Went to the doc and he tested me, everything else works fine but I still have these twitches all the time.

I googled it and it is a hemifacial spasm. Will this nerve heal you think?

Yes, I have had friends with that and after a couple of months it healed up a bit and now they no longer have those twitches!

Nerve damage always has the potential to be permanent, go see your doctor.

Sometimes, yeah. I have afaik a permanent way to know if I have a fever though. Ever since the accidents every time my temperature goes above 101F (~38C) my spine hurts like a bitch. :D

I've always been bad at biology but... wouldn't you die if that happend? or get some kind of paralysis? Maybe it's not the part of the brain I think.

For sure if my spine severed I would be dead/permanently paralyzed. But it didn't thankfully. So I have an unexplained case of temporarily dead brain stem and I'm still here.

I did, he said I was fine.

I am on the phone now again though with the hospital.

Then get a second opinion from a different doctor. See a neurologist.

If you can walk straight have don't have a concussion, good memory recall, etc. then you're probably fine. Sometimes one of my eyelids or arm will start twitching but that's because I had a really bad accident a long time ago. Give it a week or two. If it's still happening then go call the doctor.

If he said it was fine, it must be fine. I probably wouldn't be drinking though.
