Please tell me some good racing games for PC.

Rayhaan Jiwani

Hello Forum,

I'd like you to suggest some good racing games for my PC. Hardware isn't a limitation but I wanted to know a few good games. I was looking at Dirt 3 and Dirt Rally. I'd like to know your opinions on these games and The Crew.

Thanks! :)

Grid and Dirt are pretty good.

And if you are willing to emulate, I would give Mario Kart Wii or even an F-Zero game a try.

Distance, BeamNG drive (physics are what makes the game great). Just released yesterday dirt rally, it looks good however just go for dirt 3 if you've not played that.

No, it's also on the XBOX.

I recommend Burnout Paradise, RACE 07, or RaceRoom Racing Experience.

GT is Playstation's exclusive driving game, just like Forza is Xbox's exclusive.

If you're into slightly arcade-y racers, I'd recommend the Codemasters games. So Grid and Dirt. Burnout Paradise is an older game but a classic, fun arcade racer.

I would advise caution with The Crew, as I've heard in a lot of reviews that the actual racing mechanics are full of problems. Namely AI that blatantly cheats. As I'd recommend for any game, make sure you check out some reviews first.

BeamNG is the one to buy but it's still early access.

Grid series is really good. I really enjoyed Auto Sport.

Don't bother with the NFS Shift series, the AI treat everything like a demolition derby.

But you need to answer this, Do you want a challenging racing game, Than look at Assetto Corsa,

Or if you just want something fun. than GRID is for you.

Also if you properly want to enjoy these you should get a G27, Best bang for buck IMO

It really depends what type of game are you looking for. Do you want some hardcore simulator or full on arcade racing game. Or something between.

For full on simulators you do need a steering wheel with force feedback and preferably 900 degree rotation. I have Logitech Driving force GT. Pedals and Sifters aren't anything special but it's the cheapest 900 degree force feedback wheel that you can get. It's also fairly loud.

And for games look at Assetto corsa or iRacing or rFactor 2. Those are some of the more popular simulators currently. And keep your eye on Project Cars for when it's released. As for Rally simulators it's Richard Burns Rally and the new Dirt Rally looks promising. But I would wait on that to see where it goes.

For something between look at Grid Autosports or Grid one. Any of the Dirt games before Rally. Codemasters F1 games.

For full out arcade racers there are a lot of Need For Speed games. Burnout has some good stuff. And I recently played Driver San Francisco, it was a really fun game and gave the best weaving through traffic feeling. Grid 2 is also more of an arcade racer then the others in the series.

The Crew seems to be on the bad side of trying to do simulation and arcade racer at once. That makes the driving in the game not that fun.

And then there are TrackMania games. They are sort of precision driving games that you can easily play with keyboard. I like Stadium myself. You can try Nations since it's the older version and free and it plays basically the same.

I'll get BeamNG when it comes out, but for now I'll play some TrackMania Stadium. What about Next Car Game: Wreckfest?
