I Prefer 30FPS over 60FPS?

Lolzious

I do know what you mean...60FPS does look weirdly accelerated and non-cinematic... For gaming I prefer it, videos in 60FPS are cool but I still need to get used to them. Every time on Youtube when I'm switched to 60FPS, it just weirdly accelerates the video. But 60 is the way to go...imho

That's not a problem with 60fps, it's a perception issue.  60FPS is still a superior experience for watching gaming videos, but when you remove the "I am playing a game" aspect it feels faster since you are not in control of camera movement and such.  Just like how sitting in the passenger seat is a different experience than driving.  You're still moving down the road at the speed limit, but it's not the same.

It's probably because when playing, you will be at 60fps then frop to 45 then back up to 60. But when playing at 30 you don't have any drops, so it seems smoother.

that's what i was thinking

@Lolzious

, its probably because you cannot get a constant 60fps but are fluctuating between 30 and 60 which makes it a stuttery mess

If you had a  PC that could hit 60fps 100% of the time its highly unlikely you would think the same thing

Thats like me having a car that only goes 30 miles per hour, and saying I prefer it, when I just cannot hit 60 anyway

I personal;ly don;t care what frame rate the game runs at esp if it isn't a FPS title. Yes i can tell the difference betwwen 30/60/144 fps. but honestly unless its a game based on twitch like an fps, I can;t be bothered at all. What I AM biothered by is when it drops suddenly. Thats the time when it annoys me. is it nice toi play with a higher frame rate yea of course. But i understand where OP is coming from.

Its actually very benefitial to prefer lower FPS. Your wallet is surely happy because its easy to hit 30fps in games on PC and u can even play on consoles and have same experience.

U are very special.

I hope u dont prefer stutter/lag over smooth gameplay because that would literally blow my head off.

Eh, had a 360 for like 8 months, but I didn't play much.

My CPU can barely crawl over 20fps at 1080p in most games.. Getting an i3 soon :P

I don't give a shit.

Price out all the parts including shipping and tax, it comes to at least $950 CAD. I only put it for sale to see if anyone would bite, in fact, it's not even listed on any classifieds.

Sorry, I get bothered with 60FPS, and I need at least 120FPS minimum.

Is this weird? Does anyone else feel this way?  ;)

For me GTA 5 under 60 fps looks terrible, unplayable and it stuttering and then my eyes start to bleed. So I keep it over 60 :D

$990 USD, which is $1200 CAD. And thats being generous on pricing. People can't ever accept advice anymore. Good luck getting a grand for an outdated system.

If you play in the dark(no light in your room)

Then 30 fps seems very smooth. I am not sure about 60 fps in the dark, but its something to do with how fast our eyes can depict a single image.

If you don't play in the dark you are plain nutz!

While I agree that $1000 may be a little close to $1200, none of those part picker prices include shipping and taxes. Also, some of the prices could be for used items (Amazon). This system, while it may be "outdated" in your opinion, would cost $1400 to build brand new. And THAT'S being generous on pricing. Not to mention, It'd be even more in the real world where most people still shop in person at retail stores, not online. With that new value established, $1000 may still be a little high, but it doesn't necessarily warrant your kind of a response... Its obviously a feeler post/he's not dead set on selling. And that's just fine.

Just throwing in my 2 cents.

Disgusting. Here I am crying whenever my modest rig can't push 60 fps. 60 fps is more enjoyable to me. And I wish I could try a 120/144Hz monitor, but I have none available. Whatever makes your experience better man.

What...

Tbh? On my friend's 120Hz monitor Samsung SA700D I think.. Whenever the FPS goes below 60, I don't feel it as much as my monitor(SA2333SW), ehh.. I mean, I don't feel like I'm about to throw up. It's not normal as 120hz feels smooth.. But it's weird that it doesn't bother me as much :|... Weird right?

But never is 30fps good.. It's plain a bad design. Try 120-144hz monitor.. Ohh baby... You will feel better

It's probably because when playing, you will be at 60fps then frop to 45 then back up to 60. But when playing at 30 you don't have any drops, so it seems smoother.

45 is still smoother than 30, try to play a racing or fighting game at 30 then at 60FPS and tell me how it goes.

30FPS may be consistent, but in the end is just choppy for most games.

Not on a display with a fixed frame rate which is not a multiple of 45hz.

What? Ubisoft? Is that you?

Jkjk

I'm going to be extremely honest and say you are lucky and should thank your brain.

You can now get much better looking graphics since you no longer need to aim for 60fps :)
