For GTA V I'm fairly sure it's actually possible.

Let me find it

EDIT: See if this work, they might have only offered a refund on launch day.

If it doesn't work, no it's not possible.

When you are buying game on Steam you are agreeing that you are giving up on the return policies... which is a dick move by Steam.

So no.. sorry mate.

How is it a dick move? That's like getting a new job, signing a contract and calling your boss a dick for a non compete clause or something. You signed up for it, deal with it.

Because you should be able to return something within some period of time.

You buy game and is buggy.. you should be able to return it.

EA does it right.

Cause you should be able to return - retailers do it and so does oirigin and gog.com -, what you're saying like if you got DOA product and wanted a refund and the company refused it's not a dick move.

It makes sense in most cases. It's software. You shouldn't be able to use it, and then return it. It'd basically allow you to beat the game and get your money back.

Bugs, while being a slightly different story, still don't really equate to a refund IMO. No game's ever perfect. If you still get a decent experience out of it, too bad.

Not starting at all, and it's the games fault, fine. Which is rare, and in this case is remedied.

Why would you want to return it. It will be fixed, and the fact that it is buggy now does not stop it from been a great game, or you just writing it off because its buggy and will never play it ever again ?

If so, you really need to wake up and look around. ALL the AAA titles that are coming out are buggy. sadly its how it is for now. but wait a few weeks and you get the game you paid for all improved and running like a champ.

I know that with software it is not so black and white but if someone would abuse it it would be people that wouldn't be buying game in the first place (pirates).

You can return food in restaurant if you think it taste bad. Cooc may claim it taste good but you still have right to return it. Of course you can't eat it all and then complain.

Steam tracks how much time you spent in games so why should it be difficult to them to tell if you completed game or not?

Just take average time spent in game and then divide it by four and you get 25% of average time. If you spent in game longer than that you should not be able to return game after that. I think that would be fair.

You can return physical copy of game so you should be able to return digital copy too!

Unfortunately steam doesn't play nice with refunds unless you are cancelling a pre-ordered game; although the EU did have that return policy, Steam never really caught on to it so you might be out of luck. I'd suggest waiting it out.

Especially since Steam issued a GTA V specific refund option, as read here.

Steam Refund Policy

As with most software products, unless required by local law, we do not offer refunds or exchanges on games, DLC or in-game items purchased on our website or through the Steam Client.  Please review Section 3 of the Steam Subscriber Agreement for more information.

An exception is made for games purchased during a pre-order period if the request is received prior to the games' release date

Doesn't Valve offer refunds for games that have not been downloaded for the 14 days after purchase?

I remember reading something like that somewhere, but I could be wrong, or it's something they're planning to do.

I'm telling the truth! I AM a 12 year old girl!

You can return physical copy of game so you should be able to return digital copy too!

You can return food within the first few bites. However, it's not like you need a certain hand and mouth to run it that's out of their control (system spec being the example here).

It's also up to the restaurant not all will do that for you.

The only amount of time I'd see being "fair" is if you spent only 5 minutes playing it.

You shouldn't be able to play that much, and still get a refund. It would be too easy to return a game because you find it boring, which honestly isn't a valid reason.

I've hardly ever seen a store that will return a physical copy of a game. They usually if the seal is broken, no dice.

Too large of a chance that you simply copied it.

I once got a refund for the Sims 3 from steam because I couldn't play it.  I just emailed steam support and they put the money in my steam wallet and took out the Sims.  I was told that it was just a gesture of customer service though, and it was not customary.  It's worth a try
