Most brick-and-mortar stores with charge you much more for something you can buy online for less. That is normal.

What isn't normal, is buying something that they say is brand new, and it isn't. I'd file a corporate complaint on this store, and also contact your local CA equivalent of the US's "Better business Bureau"

punctuation please.

definitely return that tomorrow!

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Thanks guys but really I am kinda sad I could get a better laptop for the same price... They try to rip me of also with selling me a 32GB USB 3.0 flash drive for $99 but then they left it on without adding the price if the flag drive lol

Check up on their return policy. You could always return and try for a refund, then use that money to buy the new one online.

Does not having a second parenthesis around something bother anyone else as much as it does me? (Like if this statement was missing a second side)

As a former best buy employee, it doesn't surprise me at all. 99% of the hires have no actual knowledge on the products they're selling. But keep in mind that at a minimum wage, you wouldn't exactly be forcing yourself either.

Best Buy's logic:

week 1: Sell laptop at 600$

week 2: Raise price on same laptop to 750$.

week 3: DOORCRASHER Sell same laptop at 580$ (SAVE 170$ THIS WEEK ONLY!!!!)

Just do your research before buying. They DO occasionally have good deals on budget laptops.

Why on earth would anyone go to best buy for anything? They're terrible.

Because it's fun to watch them do price matches for you.

They also do returns pretty well. I just buy stuff from them to "test". If I like it, I keep it, if not, return it.

I have yet to see a single sale at best buy, that was better than what I could easily find online elsewhere.

I mean there sells as their company being successful, Triky may not have reasons and think there isn't but if you see how big and successful they are there has to be reasons or everyone would have done it.

  • 2 weeks later...

You can tell best buy to adjust your price for you, if you have the recipt. And also you can get warrenty with them

too which you should get it cause if they don't have one in stock then you can get a newer version

if your's happens to be older and they have none to replace your's they well give you something

of equal value. I love best buy cause if there fast shipping. Its the only place where I can

order something at midnite and have it over nite to me and I'll have it by 10am that morning or

6pm that nite always. I love it ^_^

While it definitely sucks that the WiFi is defective and stuff, that might not be Best Buys fault. That could just be a defective unit, which does happen. No company puts out 100% perfect products.

Something to keep in mind is that Dell sometimes releases products before the stores get them. Especially stores on the West coast, as (generalizing as I haven't worked at BestBuy, but have at other big box stores) we generally don't get new stock as quickly as they do back East.

Lastly, why didn't you do your research to find this out before you went? The store is there to sell you what they have in stock. And profit. Period.

It's up to you to do your own research on what's available at other retailers.

Online prices are always cheaper. They don't have in store returns. They don't have to pay for the retail space, Hydro, etc.

I don't think you got ripped off at all. I think you didn't do you due diligence as a consumer, and you're mad about it.

We have that up here too :P

Thank you sir. I wish everyone spent some time in retail to understand how important those things are.

We'd all be smarter for it.
