keep some of that RAM! like, only give him 6-8GB.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

seems fair? Is that RAM DDR2? or 3?

DDR3, No boards on the FM2 Socket support DDR2

I'd sell for $300, but $260 is fine for a friend.

CPU: 120

Mobo: 40

230W PSU: 20

Case: 20

Ram: 12GB !?!?!?! I think you meant 2? If so, $20

HDD: $30 for a small Sata.

So, brand new, that system would be $220-250 to build.

If anyone's getting screwed, it's him.  Nothing there besides the RAM has much resale value.

It's a prebuilt, he means 12GB. Odd things happen in prebuilts, like three sticks of memory weird

Yeah and the case width smaller than my hand.  And my hands are small....  So there is little-no way to upgrade it in anyway.
