GTA:V Will NOT support Vulkan

Roy didn't know what he was talking about. Vulkan support is unconfirmed for GTA V bit it's highly unlikely that it'll be supported.

Pretty sure Nvidia has a monopoly on this game too, hense the absolutely not response

Another low level API similar to Mantle DX12 but its a OpenGL based one. Basically the next version of OpenGL that is similar to DX12 and Mantle.

I wouldn't be so sure about that as there was an AMD leak from July of last year that gave out a list of games that would support Mantle. GTA V was on the Mantle support pending part so there was at least some conversations between Rockstar and AMD about mantle.

It's more like Open GL + Mantle + Dev support  = Vulkan

 

Unreal Engine 4, Source 2 Engine, and Unity will support Vulkan API.

Three of the main game development engines which are now all free to develop on.

But will it support mantle? One of the GTA V PC announcement trailers was uploaded to AMD's offical youtube channel which is kinda weird.
