I don't even know how to drive. I don't like cars. 

It's not about the machine.  It's about agreeing to be legally liable for any financial costs should you cause damage to the rather expensive rental.  If you total a rental, if you didn't get the extra insurance, you would most likely be on the hook for the entire replacement cost of the rental vehicle as per the contract terms.  Obviously car rental companies have their own insurance to financially protect them from losses of the vehicles, but those insurances come with their own expectations on behave of the insured rental company.

Geez my cat did something to a combination keys to render the keyboard nearly useless both laptop side and with the keyboard, letters like "M" would cause the screen to minimize. Unplugging and plugging the keyboard seemed to reset it. Damn cat.
