The more I think about it the more anxious I get to ask my friend about how he'd feel about a relationship with me.

I just use the thinkpad if I need a halfway usable battery life (a quad core sandy bridge and an nvidia gfx chip in my asus vs a dual core i7 with igpu in the thinkpad) or if I forgot my asus at work. I gotta admit, the lenovo feels SO MUCH MORE PREMIUM

That's business laptop quality for ya, feeling much more premium than the lower machines.

Funny that I paid 6 times more for the lenovo and aside from quality, I prefer the asus

My T420 can run Stardew Valley (among other 2D games) at 900p/60FPS just fine, and it only has integrated graphics (which were, ofc, an absolute joke in the Sandy Bridge days). How can it have trouble with a 2D game?
