Getting kicked off when microwave runs

Whenever I am in the kitchen doing homework and someone runs the microwave, I get kicked off the network, unable to do work. As soon as it finishes it reconnects. Would changing the channel in my router fix this? If not what can I do to fix it

Using the 5GHz spectrum would work because microwaves run on the 2.4GHz spectrum. 

Get a Dual Band Router and WiFi card. Or a new microwave.

• Relocate your current router to somewhere with less interference.
• You could move the microwave as well but I doubt your mother would let you get away with it

 Check to see if it is completely on the same circuit, start the microwave, does it mess with interference, or does it make the router just TURN OFF. Idk how to help if its interference, but if it cuts power, you need to put the microwave on a less important switch.
