Worst Tech mistake you have ever made?

Mitch

When I was little I was taking apart a computer and took off the heatsink to the CPU and saw the thermal compound. I thought it was a bunch of gunk and dust mixed together so I took it all off and put the heatsink back on thinking I was cleaning the computer. Luckily it had no impact.

probably getting a GTX 750Ti. at the time i bought it i didn;t really understood what GPU was better, and i just got the one with the leat power consumption.

to this day i still wish i would've gotten a 780 :(

anyway, it's also a nice reason to upgrade soon, right?

oh here's a good one , having a raid array with the built in chip-set ... then resetting your bios and ruining your array

done it so many times now

Wait, but shouldn't you still be able to recreate the exact same array? That shouldn't erase the contents of the array?

Unless I'm mistaken (which I could very well be), you should have been able to just reestablish the array. The only time you would potentially have issues is if you changed motherboards/RAID controllers. Otherwise, you should have been able to just resetup the array.

weird , cuz it shows only one of the 2 or 3 drives I'm using as part of the array , and shows the other 2 missing but still in the available disks choices ect ... Stupid Intel , I should just buy a raid controller card xD

I bought a 9400 GT in 2008 when, even though I was broke and needed a video card STAT as it was my first build with a PCIE slot, I still had better options. One of them being a 9600 GT sitting right next to it for a measly $10 more. Even though I've gone through several video cards since then, that one still haunts my memories.

Overstuffing my bag while my laptop was still in the bag.

Took out my laptop much later and cracked the screen down to the LCD panel. Never doing that again, even if I have to carry two bags.

None in particular except, some person tried charging me FIVE POUNDS FOR A CHEAP USB CABLE, no chance.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it. :P

Probably spilling sweat tea in my old Logitech G15 (version 1).  It's still one of my favorite keyboards I ever had..

Also, running without a fan on my Hyper 212+ for the longest time.  Fan just kinda died and I never noticed, although I never had any temperature problems..
