GTX 980 Owners Club

Found a BIOS that enables me to have 1400 base and 1500 boost at 1.212mv.

None of the modded bios released by K|NGP|N himself actually worked for me. Power target was out of range on them all.

I have a K|NGP|N. Where do you think the PCB shot is from?

I'll have to fill out the form when I get home. I dont remember all of the numbers off hand, and photobucket is blocked in my office.

I was the top single 980 in the 3Dmark thread for a while, then people started modding bios' and started walking away from me.

I need a 5960X to even compete. The 3570K is the problem.

Even with my 4790K I know the feels.

Oh well, I am not really a hard core overclocker and bench marker. I will still try for a decent score, but am not losing sleep over a place or two in the spreadsheet. :)

Here's my Firestrike score pulled from my submission in the 3Dmark thread:

I need to get this card under water. Hopefully EK can hurry up just a little bit.

Never got round to flashing the air/water bios. But the one i flashed over the LN2 bios is pretty good.

What are your ASICs on your cards? I only got like 68,8%. Are you also having issues with the newest driver? All my games are crashing, even when OC is off.

Well 347.52 is pretty nasty for me. Crashes under Valley more than FireStrike. But some games like BF4 and CS:GO are being affected by it. COD:AW had one crash not too long ago and Titanfall is flawless.

OC off and OC on. I should be less lazy and buy a multimeter.

My ASIC is 75.9%

Hey guys. I just wanted to know to which boost clock (stable on air) have you been able to push your cards?

So far I have gotten about 15+ from Luke's OC on my G1 (so 1540).

At 1540 under full load it only reaches 58-60C. What about you guys?

Huh? Why is your precision X and GPU-Z showing different stats?

Well I guess we got the same result, although I havent pushed mine to the limit.

Because GPUz only shows the base boost clock. It will boost higher than that as long as the TDP and Temp doesn't throttle.

It'll be fine. Screws can be an issue but that's about it really.

I have an EVGA gtx 980 SC ACX 2.0 I haven't opened from the package because I literally don't have more than a few minutes a day to spare because of work and school. Ill FINALLY be done with school at the end of April and I will celebrate by breaking it out and seeing what it can do.

I originally bought a reference 970 and literally within days the whole vram bullshit came to light, so I was still able to trade it in for a 980, but I don't want to use it yet because im guaranteed to waste time I don't have gaming. Will be nice having a life again at the end of next month.

I don't regret trading in the 970 for a 980. The Titan X is a rip off to me when you can get two 980s for the same price. If I had to do it all over again I might have waited for the 390x if I had known my last semester of school was going to end up being a stress filled sprint to the finish line, but im content with the 980 because I can always SLI it. If the 390x handily beats the titan X I might regret it a little bit, but it sounds like it probably wont be that much more powerful, and might cost a fair bit more than the 530 I paid for my 980, at least at launch.

hi. i was running a few testes stock vs OC then some benchmarking, following the logs...and noticed in the alien bech a slight variation on volts 1200mv to 1175mv and some downclocking to 1444 normal? temps are fine 50 60c, some throttling or standard ? thanks

I've never experience the under-voltage or clock decrease below 60C. Since my ASIC is 75.9% i usually get a small clock and voltage decrease at that point.

How to read ASIC in GPU-Z: http://gyazo.com/7317e16a65a0c2f20949ffcf33703c7f

although if i were you i'd max the power and temp target. Just a preference.
