  • 1 month later...

My 2nd Gigabyte G1 GTX970 has been stock since this thread opened and I gave it a try on my first G1 and did okay but tried to revert my bios n fkd up. My own fault..

Rma and my replacement has been stock ever since.

That was over a year ago.

Today the Room was warm (worst case scenario) at 27*c

After 45mins looped I have found my maximum synthetic stable clock.

Its also rock solid for DirtRally and Some games but have not tested all my games yet.

Pretty happy with 1515/1980

Previous G1 went to 1550 on core but pretty much nothing on Memory.

So yeah Im stoked at the moment it got this far. I know others have got better, Im happy I didnt get a dud.

72*c

When I get to 65*c the core clock drops 15mhz ish. Thats about it.

Eg If i set 1525mhz and heavy load happens past 65*c the core backs to 1513mhz If i want a locked 1500mhz I have to use 1513mhz.

To get 1515 i had to set above..at 1528ish knowing its going to drop.

hmm, mine just wont do anything after it reaches 60C, artifacting and stuff for even minor OCs.... iv ordered a new cooler for it, a accellero twin turbo 3, which should keep it super cool so i can OC it lol

I think I've pushed it as far as it'll go now :)

If I push the core past +120MHz it downclocks my boost. Even though I'm watercooling :P I hit 1532HMZ (boosted) but if I OC higher the boosted MHz goes down. My memory is too touchy to play with.

Use graphics score! (Because the overall score is affected by CPU performance as well)

well graphics score i got 12199 but as i said i have lots of thing running right now, like Paladins, Discord, Chrome, ect.. so that number would probably be higher if i closed them

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

That Graphics Score is actually better than my 1060 G1! (2025MHz and stock memory speed)

Yeah I noticed that by comparisons..

Thats why I added my post.

Was pleasantly surprised.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
